The elementary school I work at is right along Highway 164, 10 miles south of Enumclaw. All that beautiful scenery in the film is what I see every single day on the way to work. Hell, I grew up in Auburn, which is down the hill from Enumclaw in the valley.

Yeah, one of the problems with the movie is that it strongly, repeatedly gives the impression that the events of the movie are taking place in the middle of nowhere, like it's the country and people are totally different there and that life is slow and yada yada it's the COUNTRY, when in actuality it's really close to Seattle.

My Aunt and Uncle live pretty close to where this happened.
