Title: SNES games I missed out on and am currently enjoying; Tell me what I'm missing.
Post by: GilloD on September 25, 2007, 12:11:33 AM
Here's what I played and had a gay ol' time at:

Tales of Phantasia
Star Ocean
DQV
Terranigma
Secret of Mana 3
That sinkign ship game
THE PEACE KEEPERS
Lester the Unlikely
Harvey's Humngous Adventure

What am I missing out on? If there's this much Japafag delight to be had, I must have it!

I've done Earthbound to death. This isn't strictly RPG. i really like "weird" games; i.e. Live a Live, Clocktower 1, that sinking ship game.

DONE THEM. Biker Mice From Mars is an overlooked classic.

Has anyone else played Uncharted? It's incredibly interesting. It's essentially Harvest Moon: TURKISH TRADER EDITION

FireStriker - it's a fucked up crossing between Zelda and Arkanoid, kinda hard to describe aside from that. Very weird.

Skyblazer - a smooth-flowing platformer in the vein of Ninja Gaiden (hanging on walls and stuff), with slightly more intricate fighting than your average 16-bit platformer.

Space Megaforce - awesome top-down shooter with tons of weapons and zero slowdown

Wonder Project J - Sim where you try and teach a robot to become human (translation available)

Shiren the Wanderer - Never played, but if you are into roguelikes (which I assume you are since you mentioned Azure Dreams), this is supposed to be one of the best and most difficult (translation available)

Bahamut Lagoon - I thought this game was kinda dull and the characters were annoying... but the graphics were AWESOME

Tiesto, you and I would have been 12 year old best friends. FireStriker and Skyblazer are two of my favorite games. I forgot about Wonder Project J and Bahamut Lagoon haunts my dreams as the game I never finished.

I'll check out Pac-Man 2 for lulz, or is it actually good? Lost Vikings is a classic, but I've never played Big Sky Trooper, so I'll that a run.

Thanks dudez! Also, check out Uncharted Waters 2. It's Dragon Quest meets the Stock market meets dating sims.

Mega Man 7 is kind of shitty, easily one of the worst games in the series.

Play the superior Mega Man X instead.

Also Front Mission is kinda fun if you like Mechs and SRPGs.

Well you'll note I only said MMX. X2 is kinda meh, the levels were short and fairly easy but some of the items were stupid hard to get. X2 is more of an expansion pack than a new game.

Wayne's World: The Game

I know you're joking, but I remember my little brother, who lacked discernment at the time, requested this game as a gift.  I was 13 and he 7.  I was so upset.  At that age I couldn't afford to buy games, so I had to rent, trade with friends, or wait for birthdays or Christmas.  What a wasted opportunity.
