Post by: Van Cruncheon on September 25, 2007, 04:52:43 PM: i've played about 30 minutes and while it's no looker -- seriously, outside of the water and foliage, it's an ug -- the enemy ai, setpiece battles, and general gunplay are still the best in the biz. halo still does SHOOTENIN' better than anyone else on a console.

Still have the same problems I had with the first two - fucking mongoloids for friendlies, confusing same-looking corridors I sometimes get lost in and have to backtrack, etc.

Post by: Van Cruncheon on September 25, 2007, 06:02:16 PM: actually, let me recant -- the environments actually look really good, and the special effects are nice and subtle. really, my only complaint visually is the low-poly and poorly-animated character models in the cutscenes. as maf told me, they look like the halo 2 bodies with new heads.

- the colors

- the lights

- the glowing explosions and flinging bodies

- the pistol is still badass- but I STILL miss the zoom.

Post by: MrAngryFace on September 25, 2007, 09:30:47 PM: The environmental stuff is awesome, so many explosions and shit flying around, and god DAMN is it satisfying punching someone. I want to add the AI IS really great. I dont care what anyone says, theyre dumb. It rocks.
