Some of the used shit i see is disgusting
-
Yeah, that's why I've only order used games once from EB. I rarely buy used games but they had an awesome offer one time and I used it to pick up some Dreamcast games that were no longer on shelves. Some of the games had sticky grease on them and most of the manuals looked like they were dipped in water. Disgusting.

Japanese used games are pristine, it's too bad we can't say the same for your average used copy at the local EB/GS or Gamecrazy.
My 13-year old nephew tosses his game discs around, doesn't put them back in their cases, and doesn't seem to understand that this shit ain't cheap.
I'm very picky about used titles I get. And, if you aren't already familiar with it, Goo Gone is your new best friend.

What's Goo Gone? Does it get rid of the slimy crap on used discs?

Goo Gone gets sticker residue off cases. I've never encountered this "slimy crap" you speak of.

Well, you don't buy used games in the US .

its just like game cases either have crud, or the case is missing entirely or the plastic sleeve on the case is torn up or the disc is scratched the fuck up or smeared. jesus

Semen, maybe?
I dunno, but US used games are disgusting, and it's a gamble to buy one since you're never sure if the scratches are bad enough to screw up the game.

I remember somebody on GAF (I think willco) said he used to work at blockbuster and they had a guy come in to sell a used game and when they opened the case, they saw that the guy JACKED OFF into the case. The guy came back again and they called the police.

I wish my SNES didn't turn pee-colored yellow. Oh well. I think of it as being stained with goodness.

Yeah, I do. I've just never run into it.
I buy 99.5% of my used games from people on Half.com, they're typically in great shape. The used games I've purchased at EB/GS, on the other hand... yuck.

Really? I buy my college books there, but that's it. Maybe I should start looking there for a few games that I can't find.

I've been good. I'm about to go to work though. :-\

How is half.com different from Ebay? I've gotten burned using ebay, I bought Final Fantasy vii and the discs were all scratched up and covered in what looks like syrup. It worked a little although it had some freezing problems, but once I got to the motorcycle minigame the game always fucked up and I couldn't progress.

Half.com has different condition levels: New, like new, good, fair, etc. If you receive a product not as described, you get your money back.
