Title: Phoenix Dark iPod Review: Solid and Spectacular
Post by: Phoenix Dark on October 02, 2007, 10:18:49 PM
+Drag and drop is so easy to use.
+2GB is a lot of space. I've used like 730MB so far
+Sleek, sexy, black
+Very bright screen

-My fingerprints are all over it  :-\

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. So far I've been pretty dumb with my music selection tho. I only put two whole albums on (Lateralus and Illmatic), with a bunch of other random tracks from other albums (more Tool, some Bowie, some Outkast, some Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, etc). I'm gonna download some music tonight, probably some Portishead and Queen.  :bow

I always heard the drag-n-drop was tough with the iPod but it's pretty damn easy. I just changed my default music player to iTunes (it was Real Player) and that was that.

Sample of my weak playlist:

2 GB isn't that much space...I have the new 8 GB Nano and I still have trouble finding what music to keep in and what to delete for reasons of space.

I used to own a 2 GB Nano, it was pretty sweet for the time but I got tired of only having space for about 500 songs.  I got it when it first came out so it cost me like $200...PD is so lucky.

Realplayer is shitty.

Real Player>Windows Media Player  :bow

I downloaded Queen's Night At the Opera and some more Portishead. And I added some more Outkast, from the criminally under-appreciated Idlewild soundtrack.

it might be a gaming thing, he might not have installed his new part yet.

and even I know realplayer is pure shit.  WMP works perfectly.  The only time I ever chose to use realplayer was during Stephen Hawkings speech at UC Berkeley where the stream from the website only worked with realplayer for some reason.  It lagged like fuck and it was a pretty low quality video too.

I don't know how itunes and quicktime works cause I never use it (don't think I even installed quicktime) but a lot of people say it works well.

I haven't tried the latest version of Real player.  I work on a Mac so there is no need to, but when I used Real player's earlier versions on PC I could not stand the thing.

It's 1024 but all the pics I take come out at 800x600. Anyone know why?
