What do you think of the tin foil conspirators whom cite along with the latest Bungie shenanigans, that the cutting ties with Bizarre Creations and Peter Moore, as well as the implosion of FASA, signals that Microsoft is cleaning house to leave the hardware business (but remain a videogame software publisher?).

They paid 1 billion usd for the RROD.
no way they will leave now.

they paid that to avoid a lawsuit.
I don't think they're leaving, but I think they're straightening up now and changing their strategy.

wouldn't they want to hold onto bungie, bizarre and fasa if they were to be a publishing super giant? seems a bit backwards to me to let go of studios if they were to switch focus to being a publisher vs. hardware maker.

I don't see them leaving, but I can definitely see a different approach on the horizon with the NEXT Xbox hardware. Even more along the lines of a living room PC than the features we see currently implemeted.

Hmm, damn, just when MS got it mostly right, too... apart from the RROD and microtransactions shit. What I think MS should do is partner with a Japanese company to brand their system for the Japanese market (Sega) instead of trying to release it over there and failing again.

They should take some tips from Toshiba or some of their other existing Japanese partners.
Edit: To explain myself, I think MS has done a lot of things right regarding Japan. they addressed pretty much all the problems from the first Xbox regarding Japan and they still fail. I don't really think there's much they can do.
