While many consoles die out fairly quickly after their next iterations are brought about (see: GameCube, Xbox), the scrappy PS2 is hanging on with a solid library and a worldwide install base that could populate a country of its own. It's no wonder game developers like Capcom have been sticking with the system into the life of the next generation.
Apparently, however, we'll be seeing a change to that strategy in the near future, as Capcom President Haruhiro Tsujimoto has said the company will be shifting its development focus from PS2 to PS3, according to Jiji Press. Don't take that to mean Capcom is siding with Sony in the console wars, however, as Tsujimoto noted they plan to develop multiplatform titles to maximize profits, a move that's increasingly obvious popular among developers.
wii gets a third party game, and gaf nintendumbs are sharting themselves -- and i don't think it's because they're big monster hunter fans
Hopefully they just release a new next gen game of the same type - of a larger scale too - I wanna see a group of 20 hunters taking on an army of giants, etc..
Not to mention that their fanbase owns PlayStation consoles.Capcom fans own PS2. I highly doubt many own PS3 seeing how very few own the system to begin with.
There is no Wii demo channel, only a DS demo channel that also includes videos of Wii games.
CC games suck, ugh
fire emblem ds looks horrible. hello first-gen prerendered graphics -- never hoped to see you again. the battle sprites in the gba games had some charm.
Man, MH turned from the most niche game to the most wanted game ever in GAF.
lol.
Haha, Monster Hunter 3 for Wii. Probably a PSP port of some sort, too. Not interested to play this now. Something was weird, since the announcement there was no media out for the PS3 game at all, now we know why. :lol
If it would've been on PS3 like before Nintendo's moneyhat it would've definitely sold a lot and convinced a few folks to get the system, but oh well, as of late there've been so many great announcements of PS3 exclusives from third parties (Yakuza 3 anyone?) that it won't really make any difference in the end. Devil May Cry 4 PS3 is one of those titles that will be popular of course.
Capcom has pledged support for PS3 again too, very recently. Slowly but surely they're getting it on.
Seems like Nintendo is desperate to feature a third party game that sells decently in its line-up to get other developers on board with them.
Well for there to be demos, there would need to be games
I dunno, never played MH game before but some gaffers say one of the Ps2 games did have online.
So it did have online in the PS2.
thanks abrader.
It's cool to see Nintendo do more things with their online initiatives. However, with all these downloadable games and the ever-expanding VC catalog why can't they allow loading games from SD cards?
Because they'll announce USB HDD support shortly.spoiler (click to show/hide)BELIEVE.[close]

It's Mondain. Someone who thinks its possible for PS3 to outsell Wii. You shouldn't be shocked!Seems like Nintendo is desperate to feature a third party game that sells decently in its line-up to get other developers on board with them.all the spin in this statement makes me dizzy.
no...it'll probably be a time exclusive and a PSP or PS2 version will come later.Nintendo made far too big of a deal and event out of this if all they got was a signed deal for just a time exclusive.
