-Peter Jackson doing the Hobbit afterall? Find out in the new Entertainment Weekly! Answer: maybe

The Golden Compass has Daniel Craig and Eva Green...can't be that bad!
Peter Jackson doing The Hobbit? I don't care anymore, I'm sick of LotR.
-
It's not in stone but New Line seems more open to it. The article points out that he may not even have time to do it because of his various projects
-
Will Ferrell is going to be in a fucking Land of the Lost movie that has a 100 million dollar budget.

hehe I saw that
How are they going to spend $100 mil on Land of the Lost? If anything, it should be done for $15 mil with old-school cheesy effects. Is Will Ferrell going to be a sleestack?

- Nick Frost and Simon Pegg have finished the first draft of their new movie
-
LOTR spoof?

No, it's called Paul, supposed to be a road movie of sorts (i'm guessing like Borat) - it will be filmed in America
Nick is supposed to be the frontman in this film, not Pegg
I keep trying to talk Nick into giving more info but he's even giving me the tight lip
-
Wait, you actually talk to him? :o

I am so hyped for this movie.
I love Bryan Singer (Usual Suspects, one of the best movies of the 90's) and Tom Cruise (fuck the haters Cruise is awesome).
-
for real. tom cruise :bow
-
He is doing a Hardy Boys (Hardy Men lol) movie with Ben Stiller I am kinda interested in that. :-\ Tom Cruise goofy comedy!
-
Ben Stiller :-*

Tom Cruise :bow
The movie sounds awesome; I love how the writer explained the two halfs of the film. Sounds very, VERY interesting.
This doesn't seem like a big hit movie, and I'm sure Cruise haters will attempt to say his boxoffice power is waning. It's a WWII period piece that's not directed by Steven Spielberg. It won't be a monster hit, and neither will Lions for Lambs which also looks good. Both are more political in nature and not the stuff of boxoffice gold

trailer (http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809774261/video/4486824/standardformat) for charlie wilson's war.
tom hanks was terrible in tdvc, but not in this one, it seems. also, philip seymour hoffman. :hyper
-
Charlie Wilson's War has all the potential to be my movie of the year.
Aaron Sorkin script + politics + Tom Hanks on his A game = :hyper

Oh man...oh man that looks awesome. Fuck I think I'll get an eyepatch for Holloween just because of that vid <3. Don't know what would go with it (other than a pirate getup) but I'ma do it!
-
I must be the only other person on this forum that hasn't doomed the new Indy film to failure already.
Oh well.

Really?
I need to investigate these films.
-
Yeah, he has had a pretty decent career of well respected films:
The Graduate
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Catch-22
Closer
...etc
-
Why would I fucking watch I Am Legend, its a complete RAPE of a classic book. It looks like utter shit. Pimping that is stupid.
-
... i was being sarcastic, obviously.
-
wtf, they renamed john rambo to rambo goes to hell and back. :-\
-
hahaha thats horrible
-
wtf, they renamed john rambo to rambo goes to hell and back. :-\
Fuck, they gone and made JOHN RAMBO even more badical than it already was. I am seriously impressed. :bow
-

That sounds motherfucking hardcore.

Well the final shoe has dropped for Trek it seems. Karl Urban (Lord of the Rings/Bourne Supremacy) looks to be McCoy which is the final role of the crew cast in star trek (with relatively unknown Chris Pine almost assuredly playing Kirk). Someone made this little chart to compare the old and new cast:
-
Yeah, that's fucking awful. Aside from Simon Pegg and maybe John Cho, they're all generic pretty boys. Not a single real man among them.
-
What horrible...horrible casting. Its as if they played connect the dots when it comes to race. I would have rather had obscure actors take on the roles intead of these punks.
I hope all of them don't typecast themselves and stick to the acting styles they know (I'm looking at you Pegg)
-
Yeah, that's fucking awful. Aside from Simon Pegg and maybe John Cho, they're all generic pretty boys. Not a single real man among them.
Karl Urban is definitely a real man, but yeah...that cast looks pretty pussah.
-
karl urban is pretty badass, though he's ugly. but in terms of badassnessery he's no matthew fox or anything
-
Karl Urban I wouldn't include under the pretty boy image of the guys who are playing Kirk and Spock. Urban is cool, he aside from Pegg (and perhaps Cho) is my favorite casting choice so far.
-
Star Trek: The College Years.
-
Star Trek: The College Years.
it takes place when kirk is captain of the enterprise. Not that "academy" bullshit that was rumored for like a decade before the project got off the ground.
-
That academy movie could actually have been decent, dude. The idea came from Harve Bennett, who was the producer/guiding force behind Star Treks II-IV, which are generally considered the best ones.
-
eh, I dont want to see 21 year old kirk.
-
What you're getting is barely that much older anyway. :P
-
30 is a bit different than 21

title changed back to john rambo :-*
Hey folks, Harry here... So there I was... having a long lazy morning... Watching INVISIBLE BOY on TCM in bed and pondering just staying there when my phone rings with Sylvester Stallone on the line. No matter how many times he calls, I'll never, ever get used to having a conversation with Stallone.
I honestly had no idea why he was calling, as I hadn't read the site today. He starts off with something along the lines of, "Boy, them talkbackers are ripping me apart for the title change." Ah... I had read an email from AB KING before going to sleep that Lionsgate was saying the title was gonna be something along the lines of RAMBO: TO HELL AND BACK. Personally, I hated the change. Sly stated, "You know Lionsgate jumped the gun on this. I just was thinking that the title JOHN RAMBO was derivative of ROCKY BALBOA and might give people the idea that this is the last Rambo film, and I don't necessarily feel that it will be. He's not an athlete, there's no reason he can't continue onto another adventure. Like John Wayne with THE SEARCHERS."
I like that. Next Sly stated that he was thinking something like BLOOD RIVER - and asked what I thought about that. It was at this point where I felt, I should just let Sly know how I felt about all this title change stuff. I told him that I didn't feel the title JOHN RAMBO meant that this was the last Rambo movie, but that like with ROCKY BALBOA - it was more about a personal journey for the character. That JOHN RAMBO meant less cartoonish and a commitment to making the franchise a real quality return to the character. That the title, without a hyphen or a colon meant - this was a story about JOHN RAMBO.
That seemed to resonate with Sly and he stated, "Alright, that's the title. JOHN RAMBO."
So folks - There you have it. Sly listened to you and to me. The title looks to be JOHN RAMBO and it looks like, this might not be his final adventure. Seems Sly has a taste for the character again. In my opinion, that's a very good thing.
-
That's unfortunate.
-
Yea im sure HArry Knowles chose the title of the new Rambo movie. God damn what a fucking lard ass. He is so fucking worthless.
-
The Golden Compass has Daniel Craig and Eva Green...can't be that bad!
Bond and Vesper? Between that and Sega doing the video game tie-in, it can't suck, now can it?
-
Yea im sure HArry Knowles chose the title of the new Rambo movie. God damn what a fucking lard ass. He is so fucking worthless.
Hahaha, you're jealous of Harry Knowles.

Harry Knowles is the size of 5 Ron Pauls.
-
That just means he's 5 times as awesome.
-
Well everyone is more awesome than Ron Paul.
