Not a bad price considering whats inside (4 different novels) but I weeped when I found out Amazon is selling it for $23 :'(
Hard Cover too, inconspicuous blue color when outer plastic cover is taken off. I like it.
*Most expensive as in Non Educational related purchase. Educational as IT and Networking Books, History etc and shit like that. Shit costs an arm and a leg!
-
I've been meaning to pick that up, but I still have a huge pile of books laying around waiting to be read. Three amazing novels and one pretty good one for $23 is a fantastic deal.
-
i've got a couple of those library of america volumes. melville's late stuff and something else. i don't like reading from big unwieldy hardcovers, but sometimes they compile a lot of material that'd be difficult to find independently
-
I have the complete works of Walt Whitman in one of those editions same as the Philip K. Dick one you got. They're supposed to be library editions so they'll last a long time, I think.
-
I just bought it on Amazon like a week ago. You didn't see my post about it? Poor Blue. :(

I didn't :/
But its all good. You've got to appreciate a high quality book. The paper feels is high quality and the hard cover is rock solid. I can see why people collect books and build out personal libraries

I picked up:
I Am Legend - Graphic Novel
Age of Apocalypse - Volume 1
The Zen of Zombie
-
i made a book haul today. books are good for stormy washington weather!

fatal revenant (stephen r. donaldson) because i refuse to accept that it can suck as bad as his last book (runes of the earth) did

my most expensive book purchase...hmm. probably the Narnia set. my old one was all grubby and fucked up because my brothers kept "borrowing" them. :-\
Too bad I couldn't have Borders take The Last Battle out the set :-\
-
hellsing is great
watch the ova's plz
ontopic: i cant remember the last book i bought :(
-
$40's not exactly expensive. I regularly blow $200+ on a few books from Powell's Technical.

I usually would spend $12 on Paperback editions and $20 when I need too but never $40. I see the appeal in buying, reading and keeping rare and quality print books. I'm actually proud of this Philip K. Dick book, as corny as that sounds :lol But this is coming from someone who would always stick to paperback editions cause I'm poor!
-
I have spent just less than $1000 this year on books.
-
I'm poor too. It's just that I'm also dumb.

I bought a couple things over the past few days. This is the key purchase:

Also got, uh, first 3 volumes of Y the Last Man, like 3 different anthologies, Zombie Survival Guide (it was on the impulse buy table). Almost got this:
