Why was there not more hype for this game on EB? It was just like "It came out, it's pretty cool, there are turn limits for every battle" and then it disappeared. This is good stuff!
Also, Gilles de Rais is a playable character? Hahahaha, will they deal with his historical background? I can only hope so!

The turn limits suck ass.
-
Even if the turn limits weren't there, the game is kind of simple.
-
If the Turn Limits weren't there I would enjoy it more.
-
It's simple 'cuz it's portable, it's a classic SRPG template in the vein of the original Shining Force games. I actually like the turn limits since they force you to move forward instead of playing defensively.
I'm really liking this game.

The turn limit makes the game because of the way mana and unified defense work. If you had no turn limit you could just turtle and always win. The game has a few missions that aren't well designed but overall it's a fun game with great production values and aside from Fire Emblem will be my favorite strategy RPG of the year.

I hope they're awesome enough to keep the historical ending and have Jeanne burned at the stake, but somehow I doubt that'll happen. :lol
Also, why do I suspect she's gonna hook up with that Roger dude? Don't they know historically Jeanne D'Arc was totally zealous about keeping her virginity? ???

I finally got the game myself and I'm really enjoying it. Yeah, I kind of hate the turn limit, but everything else is really great.

100%!

Its pretty light weight when compared to Final Fantasy Tactics

I like it a lot more than Tactics (now). It's nice to not have to restart the game over and over to avoid random battles on the way back to Eagros to buy armor because a knight has broken Ramza's armor for the third story battle in a row. Every once in a while I cave and fight one hoping that the game will leave me alone for a bit.
I need to play some Fire Emblem.

100%!
Time for a tag change!

Yeah, it would have rocked if Tose made it so you click on to a Encounter map instead of it being random.

It would be nice if Tose did a lot of things like being able to take back a move after seeing the %hit chance and damage but before attacking (and see the range too). Or ensuring that spells don't cause slowdown on a port to a system with 8x the amount of RAM and at least 10x the processing power of the system it was ported from.

Yeah, that's one of the things that pisses me off about FFT, the whole "random encounters" thing. At least with Jeanne D'Arc it's completely optional...I played a few battles on the way to work today just to grab some equipment and level up Liane, who I'm basically using as a healer which has her a few levels behind everyone else.
I love the whole look of the game; the maps, the copious amounts (thus far) of cut scenes, the battle system, the whole rock-paper-scissors thing with I haven't really even started to work with, the little tutorials that show up whenever a new aspect of the game pops up, etc., etc.
I wonder how lengthy the game is.
