I can pretty much make up my own title.  Senior programmer, software engineer, DBA, w/e.  I'm the lead programmer on two $30K (extremely overpriced) bank products.  I created one and took over lead of the other when the previous lead left (the one I created hasn't been changed outside of the class that interacts with active directory in over a year).  I also do most of the technical customer support for both, do installs+updates for one, and a bunch of other IT crap.  Right now I'm configuring the web server that's going to replace our current one.

Hopefully I'll be a database coordinator at the local university in January.

No, I own and operate a contract painting business in North Carolina.  I'll bet those European painters make some sweet bank.  I myself do not.

No grad school for me, actually. I know it's not the best decision, but I'm really sick to death of school and have been ready for college to end since it started. I just want to stop being a student and get on with my life, get married, and have my two babies.

Heh, that's what I do too ( part time) *high five*

I do 3 jobs total. The first one, already mentioned. The second is, hilariously enough, viral marketing certain products (not going to do that here, don't worry), and a movie script proofreader. Everything would be great if the marketing thing started later in the day (have to be there by 8: 30 sharp :( )

I am staying in school. I'm graduating in May with a bachelor's of science. I toyed with the idea of graduate school because it seems like I'll be waiting a long time for James to finish his degree, but I'm already in debt up to my eyeballs with student loans for my bachelor's. It makes me sick to think of adding the cost of graduate studies to that. :(

You mean motivation for interning, which is basically working for free? It's part of my psychology practicum, which I need to complete to graduate, haha. I could either do a practicum, or independent research. I'd much rather my 100 hours of free labor and some seminars than having to do some shitty-ass long research paper!

If there's one thing this semester has taught me, I don't think I ever want to be a lead programmer again. I hate meetings, I hate having to justify everything, I hate having to argue things. I'd rather just be given a task and left to do it.

It's not so bad, but you do have to be a bit of an ass at all times in order to manage all the shit a lead programmer has to handle.

I've heard people describe being a lead programmer/project manager as the worst time of their life.  I'd assume any mid-level managing is, but I guess when it comes to coding it can be a much bigger headache.
