I google search and every link has their shit in a different file format, one is a zip with a .exe and a .rom inside, the next link has all in .bin.
Please evilbore, steer me in the right direction.
-
if it's windows, just unzip the file and click on the exe. at least i've never seen a windows driver that required more than that.
-
Worst case you unzip it to desktop and driver in stall through device manager. In vista its computer, right click, properties -- to left panel -- Device Manager. From there just expand the list and look for what has an alert next to it.
executables will just do their thing with the support of the resource files bundled with it.
-
What about the .bins?

Just grab this, extract all, run the setup on the shuttle. That should deal with any network connectivity crap, which will essentially solve most of your problems. Thats the only driver install package for vista I can find on the Shuttle website.

I found some X100 and X200 drivers for vista on the site, should I put those on the CD as well?
-
why not. Run the batch I post first. The idea is to enable that realtek network crap on the mobo so your network cards can work. Beyond that vista should auto detect most everything else.
-
I'll be back later, right now I'm off to meet my sister for Ice Cream.
The epic thread will be put up tomorrow.
-
okay, so everything but the sound card has drivers and works.
-
soundcard is probably a creative sblive or something, or needs the realtek audio driver or AC 97
-
The realtek one worked. Thank you very much, MAF.
The thread I'm planning for tomorrow will be the biggest in forum history. It will be thread I've wanted to make since all those years ago playing Magic Carpet on the family Presario, thinking nothing would ever look better than that. Three weeks later, my cousin showed me the first Unreal.

have you tried anything out on it?
-
Yeah. Psychonauts had sound issues, Vista didn't like Darwinia, Swat 4 ran just fine outta the box, as did Act of War. All these games are straight outta the box, no patches or anything. Will report back after patching them.
-
more interested in source level stuff, I know WoW ran well and its a stupid ass resource hog. I got darwinia working on two vista installations tho, so thats good news. Only games I had serious issues with were NOLF2 and Paraworld. This was on Vista 64 bit tho

When I get paid again, the Orange Box PC is mine.
-
nice. download a demo or two to stress test it. I never tried pushing it cause it was my media center in the living room and im not much for pc games in the living room
-
Will do.
