Thanks for making a constructive post for once. I'll DL it right now and see if a single 8800 GTX can handle it.
-
i really, really need an upgrade. :-\ thanks for reminding me, mondain.
-
I'll wait for 360 version

i just checked the gaf thread. it looks like ass running on just about everyone's pc.
you'd probably have to have a pc from the future to make it look good.
-
It'll be the future when its done tho right? lololol

It looks damn good actually. The only problem is the framerate. Crsis is like the Heavenly Sword of FPS games. At 1920x1200 w/max settings, I went below 10fps quite often and even at 1680x1050, I was still getting only around 15-18fps. After I dropped a couple of settings to medium, I was able to get around 30fps at 1680x1050. Even without non-maxed out settings, the game looks amazing. The forest has to be seen to be believed. Still, with this type of performance, I'm going to hold off until hardware comes alone that can play it at 60fps at 1920x1200. 30fps is for console-only sissys.

this (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=8383274&postcount=159) is the only batch of pics that impressed, and even then it seems like it's not as detailed as it could be.

^holy crap it looks insane bud. what else could they really do? obviously it's the type of game you either have to see being played or watch and HD video for to see how good it really looks though.

yeah, i meant that you really need an amazing (understatement of the year lol) rig to get the most out of it.

It looks a lot better when you're playing it. Motion blur doesn't really look good in stills. The geometry in that jungle is several times higher than the ones in any other game, including Uncharted. I wish they would let me tone down the density of the foliage though. framerate>grass
-
they let you turn down foliage in far cry but the problem was that people wouldn't be able to hide in it in MP if somebody else had the foliage turned down all the way.

i'm actually digging the motion blur that i'm seeing in those pics. it's just that i know that the game is a lot more detailed and all these pics kinda give me the ''downgrade'' feeling. but that's because of their rigs, obviously.

I'm very un-impressed. this is just another example of why hype can hurt a game.
this game was hyped up to be god like not only in terms of visual presentation but gameplay as well and both fall short.
i felt like i was playing far cry on steroids, i mean sure the graphics are better but Big F'ing deal.
this game is another example of how the 10 year old kids get off on good looking graphics and could care less about the gameplay and innovation.
and to anyone who's gonna argue the game is innovative, don't even bother....some fancy new lighting techniques and good looking trees don't make a game innovative you nit wits. i swear its pathetic, we need to go back to pre-2000 when games weren't all about flashy graphics and were all about gameplay and innovation.
If the final games anything like this in my opinion it deserves nothing more than an 8.5 from gamespot, less if you ask me.
-
And 8.5 is a bad score because?
-
CAUSE ITS NOT 10.0 GRAPHICS WHORES @ EVILBORE
-
Crysis' gameplay is COD4-lite.
