It happened when I was driving home so I didn't feel it but it was apparently a 5.6 on the richter scale. did anybody that was home at the time actually feel anything? I think the last one I felt was a 4 point earthquake about 2-3 years ago.
-
Yeah, my entire room started shaking. It was neat! My first real earthquake!

I haven't had an earthquake this major since like 1989, but I don't even remember the shaking of that one.
-
Yeah, a lot of stuff shook. Ripley (the cat!) was acting really weird before then too; she was whining for no reason, even though she just got fresh water and food. Some crap fell. I heard some girl scream outside. That might have been from a mugging and/or rape, though.

:lol :lol :lol
now that I think about it, I did feel the car oscillate a little at a red light so that might have been it.

Alert me when the big one hits and California sinks into the Pacific Ocean for good.
-
they say that there'll be aftershocks that are stronger than this one tomorrow morning at 9:00! Woo!
-
Ive felt a few in WA, nothing big
-
I've never felt an earthquake. There's supposedly an inactive fault line close to where I live, though.
We just get floods and blizzards for our natural disasters, and small tornadoes every once in a while. We're affected by hurricanes as well, but we're not coastal so it's not bad like in Florida or anything.

Instructor: Watch the projector.

Only guy that followed earthquake safety procedures in the class (but also remembered to bring his classwork with him - ah the dedication and diligence of the art student):

he didn't forget his ipod either.

real art students would have drawn a table and then put it on their head

UUUHHHHH..... We're Interior Design students. We'd draft a table in AutoCAD, extrude a 3D model, render it with custom finishes, THEN go under it. DUH. ::)
-
i was in the middle of a guitar hero 3 battle when both me and my friend experienced the shaking. i tossed my headset and guitar and ran straight for my doorway. creeped me the fuck out. thought it was gonna be another '89 style quake. whew, glad it wasn't so bad. my friend thought i died or something. "hello? dude are you alive? oh shit, fuck." was what i heard through my tv speakers.

I think there was an aftershock at 8:30 this morning. I woke up because I heard an alarm or airplane like sound going for about 2 minutes.
-

I was very young, but I do remember that quake of '89. I remember footage being played over and over of that freeway that collapsed onto itself. So scary to watch.

Last one I remember was six years ago. Pretty big one, but it didn't do much damage. I think one person died.
