Wiccan high priest Elwood "Bunky" Bartlett, who won an estimated $49 million in the Maryland lottery last month, intends to use his money to set up a school for witches -- a real-life Hogwarts.
Bartlett, who formerly operated a bookkeeping service, says the winning ticket came to him after he promised "the powers that be" that he would use his winnings to quit his job and teach full-time.
He told the Associated Press that his school will teach not just about Wicca but also about multiple spiritual traditions, as well as offering training in practical skills like financial management.
Bartlett has already contributed to a Special Olympics event, to Mystickal Voyage, a New Age shop where he currently teaches, and to a Stonehenge preservation group in England.
The following video is from The Associated Press, broadcast on October 30, 2007.

That's actually pretty awesome.
I mean it's 10 times cooler than what morphix did.

What will the tuition be? What will their gym classes be like? Can I go?
I want to be America's first black Wizard

*cough* warlock
It's funny as hell how they offer financial planning. I can't wait for O'Reilly to blast the first graduate who eats somebody.

Wicca isn't satanism. Of course, you'd have to be a black person or muslim to confuse the two.

Huh? I thought Morphix got money because his mother sucessfully sued a pharmaceutical company and then him and his brother just live off that? What happened to Morphix, anyway?

yeah he got the money that way but I mean how he spent it. he just put it into savings and is living off the interest while buying games and anime.

There is some crossover between Thelema and the Church of Satan, though I am not sure what the exact connection is since Thelema is still rather secretive, even today. Thelema means "Will" in something like Greek, and one of the texts that inspired the Church of Satan was "Might is Right" by Ragnar Redbeard, so there are at least philosophical similarities.

I wonder how seriously his mother was injured.

Does anyone still believe in Wicca past the age of 21?

From what I gather Crowley was more influenced by ancient mythology as a means to gain mystic 'power', or as a means to dress up his debauchery in a more fanciful manner. Lavein (CoS founder) or whatever was more of a critic of the 'Christian' Church and it's hypocrisy, he was also influenced by Ayn Rand and Nietzsche and used their philosophy to rebel against the Church or something.
