apparently, when i got this new "repaired" unit, my extended service contract (on my previous 360) was not transferred. so i have to write a HAND WRITTEN letter explaining my situation before i can even get this 360 under my service contract. otherwise, they're asking me to pay $99 to have it repaired. FUCK THAT. it's a mess. =\ it's literally going to take months for me to get this repaired one back.

do the new 360s have the falcon chip on em? i'm thinking of just purchasing one and selling the repaired unit.

i tried without a hard drive and still got the same error. this is going back as soon as i can get my warranty issue settled.

That's the only one you need. All the HDMI 360s are the ones with the second heatsink and new DVD drive.

the 360 I recently bought has HDMI but it's not advertised on the box.

I used this list to find out the information about my xbox without opening the box.

a heat sink is a thing that goes next to the processors that takes out the heat very efficiently. it looks like a bunch of little white metal strips sticking out. you'll probably see one if you open up a desktop. I have no idea how exactly a heat pipe works but it has heat in the name and it's in a computer so I guess it takes it out.

and hyp, if the 360 has HDMI then it's sexy. there's no point waiting for a 65 nm one when the HDMI ones have the lower temperature anyways and you only want it for a while.

You just got your 360 recently, right? After two years, 20gb is already pushing it a bit. 120gb is enough to last the 360's lifespan.

dude, it was a 11/06 unit... fuck all that noise. the one i got today is a 10/07 unit. so i'm assuming it's one of the updated versions. if it breaks again, i'm going to the ward.

nope. i got an elite manufactured in 10/07 w/ forza 2 & marvel included. wanted a 120gb with the optical audio adapter. part of the draw was that since i don't subscribe to cable, i'm gonna need a bigger hdd when iptv comes out. so the elite seemed like the best option for my setup. the other option was an arcade using my old hdd, but since i'm gonna sell my premium i wanted to make sure it had all the parts for it.

unless you're sure that you'll want to admire J. Allard shilling for the 360 in HD over and over again

although both of my 360s are in perfect working condition I thought the same, but with some new calibration settings on my Bravia it seems like I'm satisfied enough of a 360 + Monster VGA cables combination in 1080p for now

some games look too washed out in certain portions like DW Gundam and Oblivion, but overall they're very rare

Got it back three weeks ago, and just now I bought Halo and guess what? ~Five hours of playing and my Halo 3 disc is now scratched and unplayable. :'( I've barely been able to play the 360 without it breaking down. At least this way I've never had to pay for Live, gotten three total months of free live and I've only been able to use one so far, and I should be getting another month now.

Get an Arcade. Better disc drive, extra heatsink, hdmi. If you have your hdd it'll be fine.

Yeah I suppose that would work. Such a bummer I have to pay for another console when the first one should work though. I guess that this way I could always switch between the two when one breaks down...
