Devs of licensed shit need to pay attention to this game. Its not GOTY but it demonstrates an attention to detail and an earnest effort to make something good thats pretty much unparalleled in licensed games.

There are already tons and tons and tons AND TONS AND TONS of anime games that "aren't fucking fighters." Even your action adventure One Piece game. :o They just never get Stateside releases, although from what I always hear about most of them, that's probably a good thing.
Let the Rise of a Ninja people make a new One Piece game instead of shitty-ass Bandai.
-
I want a GOOD One Piece action adventure that does not involve BUG CATCHING (wtf)
-
I was kinda bummed the One Piece game coming out is for Wii :(
-
Simpsons rox
I need to check out the simpsons yet, ran outta $$$

Is that same the game that came out in Japan a while back? I heard it blew chunks.
-
yeah it might be, I didnt really check it out much
-
Naruto is pretty hip with the dumb kids, right? We know Ubi isn't shy about pumping out yearly sequels, and Naruto is probably a candidate to do embarassingly well.

There's a reason they're called Narutards. :lol
-
Naruto and Bleach are the new "Dragon Ballz." I guess Naruto is probably the more popular series, but I think they both fall to the might of One Piece, which curiously doesn't seem to have caught on outside Japan.

I used to read some of this shit in manga when I worked at a book store years back. I actually remembered the one part of Naruto that I played through, with Kakashi testing the team. And I remember an issue of One Piece where Luffy meets that chick for the first time, and he's ina cage or she is. I forget that part since i haven't had my memory jogged.
So basically, I was into Naruto before any of you fegs, like back in 2001 2002. I was reading the manga. I've been around the block with the gang.

I GOT INTO MANGA IN 1992 I'M THE BIGGER NERD HA HA
I read it back then too. Naruto never caught on with me like Dragonball did. Same thing with Bleach.

Yeah, that was during my brief manga phase. Plus that shit was expensive, and I could indulge my sweet tooth for free while working at the book store. Oddly enough, I know there was some other manga in that magazine that I as interested in, but I can't remember what it was. It was the reason I was reading it in the first place. I read the Naruto because it was there. Damn, I can't even recall the name of the magazine.
EDIT: It was MIXX/TokyoPop. That was awesome stuff. They actually modeled themselves after Shonen Jump I think.
-
lyte edge wins. :bow
Even I didn't get into Dragon Ball manga until like '93.
TVC, it sounds like Shonen Jump magazine.

No, it was the U.S. version of Shonen Jump. Naruto is from Viz in the U.S. Mixxzine/Tokyopop magazine began to come out several years before Shonen Jump did. They had stuff like Magic Knight Rayearth, Parasyte, Harlem Beat :bow, and the Sorcerer Hunters :bow. Parasyte was FUCKED UP...I read all of it and it was disturbing!

The first "anime" (as in "this is from Japan and uncut," not all the stuff we got imported for years and years previously) I saw was Akira in '89 or '90. My brother also bought all the manga and Jademan comics that came out in English from the beginning. I would always read some of them, but didn't really get into it until '92. I loved stuff like Ranma and Caravan Kidd.

I got you beat on the anime front. I was watching Mazinger Z back in 1985. :lol
-
Why isn't this in off-topic, lyte edge?
-
It sort of went off-topic, Demi. IF I HAD TEH FULL MOD POWERZ, I'd split the topic, but I can't do that so FUCK IT.
And this ties in together much more with the topic than Radiohead does, so FUCK U
I got you beat on the anime front. I was watching Mazinger Z back in 1985. :lol
That doesn't count unless you mean the original Japanese version. I mean dude, Speed Racer and Astro Boy are far older. :lol
-
It was spanish-dubbed but it was unedited unlike Speed Racer and Astro Boy. ;)

I SAW ROBOTECH EARLIER SO F U
-
my first anime was speed racer but the anime that got me into anime was dbz

Again, edited!

Again, edited!
EDITED INTO GREATNESS
Mazinger Z doesn't have anything to be edited, or DOES IT?
-
Dude, one of the bad guys, Baron Ashler, is a hermaphrodite. The robot Aphrodite A fires breast missiles. In one episode, her breast missiles are upgraded in size giving her huge knockers, she fires them, and then Mazinger Z grabs onto them to fly!
-
:lol :lol
-
God bless Wikipedia, they actually have a picture of Mazinger flying while holding on to Aphrodite A's breast missiles.
In one of the most memorable chapters, her infamous breast missiles win Mazinger a battle, when Mazinger (not yet able to fly, as its Jet Scrander upgrade had not yet been built) was unable to destroy the aerial monster Gelbros J3. Sayaka was infuriated when she discovered her robot had, without her consent, been equipped with supersized breast missiles that totally ruined the elegant lines of Aphrodite. Kouji used these modified missiles to give Mazinger Z enough thrust to fly, and forced the enemy to land. (See External Links for footage).

Well...i just bought it.

Moving this back on topic, there's something weird about a Japanese franchise being developed by Europeans...I'd feel the same way if a Western franchise were developed by Japanese folks. I wonder if Japanese fans care about this at all, though - do these Naruto games come out in Japan as well? I have no clue.

So you thought all those Capcom-developed Marvel games were weird? Or all the Disney games?
-
I don't think they announced this for Japan.
-
I've always thought of Kingdom Hearts as a very weird series. And I've gotten used to the idea of the Vs. series now, but when X-Men Vs. Street Fighter was first announced, I thought it was frickin' ridiculous!
-
I never cared about it before but this game is slowly turning me into a Naruto cigarillo :-\
habeeb it.
-
yeah, i always thought naruto was the dry, terribly paced, less imaginative counterpart to one piece in the world of shonen faggotry, but now my nerd gland is stimulated :'(

Kingdom Hearts IS weird. But that's Square. I'm talking real game companies, like Capcom. Never mind XvSF, let's go back to X-Men COTA and Marvel Super Heroes. I thought they did awesome with the characters and details. And what about stuff like Duck Tales for NES? I wasn't even thinking about Kingdumb Hearts when I said Disney!

I think that would be Bleach, not Naruto. But I don't care much for Naruto either. At least the anime series, when it's not doing filler, doesn't really drag on that long. Sort of.
-
Its all over Spencer. The people you knew are gone.

ok bore, i need your help. i'm at the mission where you have to revisit the bandit who stole a map from the scroll shop. thing is, nothing happens when i go back to his headquarters in the forest. am i missing something?

Dunno about that, duder. Even in non-filler episodes, Naruto has the worst pacing I've seen in an anime, only matched by DBZ.
Difference between Naruto and Bleach is that Bleach feels like it drags on forever, while Naruto actually does.
