Title: Favorite game quotes
Post by: Himu on October 14, 2006, 01:41:48 AM
What are you favorite game quotes? If you've got an mp3 sample that'd be even better!

I think my favorite games to quote are the GTA games. I find the dialouge extremely charming and funny, and I usually play the game while listening to the talk radio stations exclusively.

Chatterbox, in GTA3, is definitely is full of some of my favorite quotes; although I prefer VCPR in Vice City, I don't have mp3s of that one. :( I think I should just go and rip that game's audio and put VCPR on cd.

Mama mia this thread is terrible.

BTW, I love when am_nintendoho says "Yo" in each Mario Party and sets up the board.

I honestly cannot remember a single worthy line from any game ever.

Maximillian Roivas in Eternal Darkness has some line where he says

"feast upon all the sweet breads that a man has to offer"

Mad Max Roivas had tons of quotes.  He needs his own game, tearing through an asulym, spouting eloquent insanity.

What's that from? I think there's an LFO song that samples it.

Deus Ex.

Morpheus: The unplanned organism is a question asked by nature and answered by death. You are a different kind of question, with a different kind of answer.

Walton Simons: What an expensive mistake you turned out to be.

UNATCO troop 1: Don't you know what a philanthropist is?
UNATCO troop 2: Yeah, like Nietzche.
UNATCO troop 1: No, a philanthropist. Giving to charity.
UNATCO troop 2: Oh.

JC Denton: Bravery is not a function of firepower

JC Denton: "Electronic surveillance hardly inspires reverance. Perhaps fear and obedience, but not reverance."
Morpheus: "God and the gods were apparitions of observation, judgement and punishment. Other sentiments towards them were secondary."
JC Denton: "No one will ever worship a software entity peering at them through a camera."
Morpheus: "The human organism always worships. First, it was the gods, then it was fame (the observation and judgement of others), next it will be self-aware systems you have built to realise truly omnipresent observation and judgement."
JC Denton: "You underestimate humankind's love of freedom."
Morpheus: "The individual desires judgement. Without that desire, the cohesion of groups is impossible, and so is civilisation."

"A bomb's a bad choice for close-range combat."

"God was a dream of good government."

"I love the feeling of sliding a long silver bullet into a well-greased chamber."

Revolver Ocelot, MGS

My friend and I parody this line to this day.  The homoerotic overtones are hysterical.

What...the fuck?

And one of the best game quotes is probably:

"It's always the blue wire in the movies"
from Max Payne.
