Is that someone significant? Wikipedia listed him as some big villian.
The sheer amount of information even existing on those wiki pages made me feel dead inside.
-
No. Anime comes from "animation," so this should be obvious. :)
Power Rangers is just one of countless live-action super hero shows known as "sentai," which basically translates to "fighting team" or "task force." These go back to the 70s.
I never liked Power Rangers. I guess I was too old for it (12-13) when it was big.

Yeah, and he's also the most badass PR villain ever! In fact when he was first introduced he was considered so evil that they toned him down because parents complained.

Muthafucka, that's Lord Zed! :punch

But it originates from Japan, so does liking it make you a japafag?

I liked the Power Rangers a lot when they first came out. I don't remember that villian dude, though. The name Lord Zed sounds familiar, but he doesn't look familiar.

nikki is a fellow japafag. Welcome to the fold. Stay a while...stay forever!

Apparently I used to like some anime shows as a child.
I really liked Maya the Bee [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_the_Bee_%28TV_series%29], which was on Nick Jr. I LOVED The Littl' Bitrs [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Littl%27_Bits]. I also remember watching a show about a little Koala [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventures_of_the_Little_Koala]. I didn't know any of them originated in Japan, lol.
I watched a lot of Nick Jr. as a kid. :)

I watched Nick Jr. too. Then it got obsessed with the slime fad and I got kind of bored and then I started watching cartoon network and was just mesmerized.
I still remember worrying about missing power rangers at 4:30 every day when I was a kid. If you watch it today it's hilarious.
-
I used to watch it in college while blitzed.
-
nikki's cool. Soon she'll start watching Gundam too, I bet.

Loved Maya the Bee and Little Koala as a kid... had no idea they were anime! I always thought Speed Racer (when MTV used to show it) was the first anime I liked.

There's someone I grew up with who was really into Power Rangers. We grew up and went our own ways. I was reunited with him because of Myspace, and we got to talking and shit. He told me he still watched Power Rangers and that he downloaded the "official Japanese versions, which are [supposedly] much more dark and mature".
I didn't really want to meet him again after that.
