Just get 08th MS Team over with. it's only 12 episodes long.
One Piece is my favorite from that list, but it takes a while to get into. I didn't really start to love it until like 15-20 episodes in. Then again, it took me just as long with Naruto too...

The movie (Miller's Report) takes place around 2/3rds of the way through the OAV series. I will give you a clue and try not to use spoilers: after the situation where the protagonist ends up on a snowy mountain is resolved, watch the movie. Then watch the rest of the show.
I have an autographed copy of the Miller's Report DVD. :rock

If you watch it before the series, it'll spoil tons of shit. You can just do what MAF said and watch the series and skip the movie...the movie's basically there for two reasons: One, the original series director died and there was a big gap between release of episodes, so they needed some material to fill in the gap so folks wouldn't lose interest (the movie also recaps stuff from previous episodes), and two, it explains how the protagonist gets from point A to point B at a certain part in the show.
Turn A hasn't been released in the US, so the fansub route is okay (that's what I did).

Just watch a couple of eps of 08th MS Team to see if you get interested in it. It gets really good once the jungle combat starts, especially.
