She says that I have some of the most severe jaw tension she's seen in normal, non-special case patients, and that could be causing problems with energy, sleeping, and headaches.

There's a retainer you can get that'll stop teeth grinding/clenching; I would imagine it's cheaper than this. I dunno tho

This is fairly cheap. . .I forget the exact price, but they do it all in office. It's like, as cheap as anything gets in dentistry. Lemme find the paper.
It looks to be like 45-60 bucks, depending on if I am reading this right. Considering how much my next set of procedures is (3300), that is pocket change.

That's about the cost of a cheap blo-and-go, even I can afford it.
Go for it Jet Jaguar!

Well, it's gonna be 3300 total to fix the left side of my mouth. The right side should be about ~1500ish. After that, the rest of the money is for ortho, if we decide to do that. I'd like to, but this is turning out to be a lot of money. Not that I didn't expect it. I do want all of this done right. I am just going to assess the situation for ortho once I get all my fixing up done.

Thats alot of dough. Your mouth must be pretty fucked

My wisdom teeth came entirely in, crushing molars on each side of my mouth. That's where a lot of this comes from. It was also 7 years between dental visits, so there are a fair number of smaller things, chipped teeth, fillings that broke as my mouth was getting crushed by molars and wisdom teeth.
It's just a lot of stuff that added up :-/ And like I said in a previous thread, one of those broken molars has basically been bleeding for like, years straight.
EDIT: BTW, PD, my new front teeth look KILLER.

Ortho as in braces or something? Or like surgery stuff
I do the filing at my dad's practice on the weekends, and some of the prices I see are just crazy. Maybe I'm just insane, but I constantly look in people's mouth lol. I don't want to be a dentist, but I can count a person's fillings if I'm close to them. :-\

I have a big gap between my two front teeth, and the rest don't look all that great either. I wanna get a completely new set of teeth. Can they do that?

Well, again, that is like 6 months off and we have a lot to do before then. Previous to today, we were talking braces/invisoline, but today, when she was doing dental impressions to get my new front teeth to line up correctly, she noticed that the entire left side of my mouth meets correctly and normally, but at the same time there is a significant gap between my top and bottom row of teeth on the right side, indicating that like my whole jaw is fucked up. She seemed like mildly concerned about that, but she wanted to get me out of there because I had been in there for like 3.5 hours, lol.
I have an appointment next week to get the NTI Tension Suppression thing, and after that, my next major appointment is in January.

Eh, I've caught myself doing this since I started pouring money into my mouth. I guess it's kind of natural.

don't worry about if your jaw is so slightly lop-sided to the degree that your dentist has to be making impressions to notice it. jaw surgery is VERY major and your face will balloon to twice the size of Bzchan's. plus you lose at least a 3 day weekend and you have to eat a lot of soft food. I got it 3 times (cause apparently the bone grew back too fast even though they implanted these splints/screw things) and the first time (which was the most major) I lost 10 pounds the first week from not being able to eat/having difficulty eating liquefied food.

Bitch! why not ask me these questions? At least I was certified to conduct regulatory investigations for the AZ Dental Board. PD is just some POS dentist's kid.

It's good to know all this stuff is going well for you. Just in time for the holidays too

I might be going for surgery for the molar issues, so it's no biggie. I want the best possible solutions for everything, even if it is expensive and/or inconvenient.

well if it's a minor surgery (one screw or something) then you can probably stand it but if they say they want to use distractors (I forgot how they spelled them) then don't do it. I was apparently the first human to have that and my jaw still creaks.
