Title: I'm sure it's been said, but the AC engine should be used for a Batman game...

... the definitive Batman game!

The repetitive nature of Assassin's Creed is wearing on me - I'm not sure if I'll finish it.  Game is gorgeous and so much can be done with the concept and tech, but the execution seems off and not fully fleshed out.  I'm sure the inevitable sequel will address my issues, but if someone is smart, they should license the tech and make an awesome Batman game.

Like that will happen.  I am sure the shittiest team at Atari is hard at work on some licensed garbage for you.

Don't be bitter, Mister Red Rings!  Sure, this is just a pipe dream, but it is a glorious pipe dream!

Jade Raymond should code a Batman game based on the AC tech by hand!

Cool.  You know who Warner has a big games deal with?  SEGA.  Enjoy Batmanmue.

Why bother when Lego Indiana Jones will be so much better?

Point taken!  But it is Batman, so eh.

Isn't the Dark Knight videogame being handled by Pandemic?

When was the last time they shipped a game on time?  When was the last time they shipped a good game?  Mercenaries?

They are also owned by EA, not WB, so they aren't doing it, prob.

They're workin' on Mercs 2, so I mean, there's still hope that they're good.  Haven't actually seen any preview impressions for it though.

I'm just hopefuly it'll be better than the Begins game.  And if its in Pandemic's hands, then that's at least a step up.

They'll probably try something new that will fail horribly.  I remember the Batman: Begins game had a "fear" meter and that was a really mediocre game.

I think the best batmans were the 2D ones where you could play co-op.  you really, really shouldn't do a sandbox style superhero game.  just look at the last superman game.  besides, there's not enough batman villains to make it based on the individual movies.

Gotham City, sandbox-style, with the AC engine would be awesome.

Why would there be a sandbox Batman game, though?  That isn't how Batman operates.

Yeah, it is.  There's so much crime in the comics that he has to pick and choose!  I'm sure there'd be a connected storyline to several, random villainous events - ever read the Loeb/Lee run of "Hush" for instance?

the big difference is that batman doesn't walk up and down the street in the costume.  it would get boring having to be stealthy going anywhere in the city.  even if you take the batmobile everywhere, it would be like crackdown but you die in 3 shots and have to navigate a shitload of gadgets to get anything done.

a traditional beat-em up batman game could work though.

but the assassins are awesome. whereas batman is a gay. and as christopher nolan's movie proves, the more seriously he's treated, the more ludicrous the results
