I want to buy this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000V1XICU/sr=8-11/qid=1196022022/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1196022022&sr=8-11 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000V1XICU/sr=8-11/qid=1196022022/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1196022022&sr=8-11)
Anyone (TVC?) have any suggestions otherwise? I want a point and shoot camera that I can fit in my pocket, and this seems to be a pretty good quality camera judging by the reviews. But since this will be my first non-shitty digicam purchase, I want to look before leaping.
Sundays depress me. I need to buy something. Please tell me I'm on the right track so I can get it out of my system already.

I hear a lot of people here recommend the cannon rebel (which is around the same price) but it's obviously not a camera you can carry in your pocket.

if you're going to get something that expensive, get a nikon d 40 :bow :bow

you go!
it looks decent. you might want to check some tech forums like anandtech to see if they mention it. it got 4.5 stars on amazon though so it has to be pretty good.

Wide Angled lens on that Point and Shoot should be awesome. Your pretty much stuck with whatever lens you get with these little cameras and a Wide Angle lens should make it more versatile.
8Mega Pixel is good, you can make large enough prints at that res
Image Stabalization is a must for Point and Shoots (pull out quickly and shoot without shake). Thats a major plus
Lithium-ion battery is good too. Some Point and Shoots by Cannon and Nikon don't come with rechargable batteries at all.
I say thats a good purchase!
