Post by: Smooth Groove on November 26, 2007, 08:14:54 PM: The Kingdom of Heaven is a good transfer but there are no special features except for a trailer. Wasn't Blu-ray supposed to have more extra features than dvd?

The movie itself was pretty good. I've seen bits of the original on cable and the plot was a mess. The Director's Cut does a much better job of fleshing out the plot and the characters. I give it a 7.5.

While I'm a big fan of HD-DVD, Blu-ray obviously has the edge in CG movies because of Pixar's exclusivity to Blu-ray.

Well, it's just some of them really. Like the ones that cut off half of the front cover art to say shit like HIGH DEF TO JIZZ ALL OVER. I hate that.

However, the first film has been stripped of almost all the special features from the 2-disc set, and the fourth film is the PG-13 version, so I expect a double-dip on down the line.

I finally have Crush...and it seems really, really good! WTF at the box art though. Portable Ops PLus Japan will now be sold off. And I can use my save data from Portable Ops now and import the characters I got from the original game.

Give it a try. It's easily on the best PSP games, and one of the best action/puzzle games available on any platform, for that matter. Great fun AND original.

But 50 GBs is supposed to be more than enough for 3 hrs of 1080P video. Also, extra features are often in 480I/P which consume much less space. I"ve to check if KOH came on a 50gb disc but I'm pretty sure it did.

It's not a 50 gig disc. 50 gig blu rays didn't ship until Dec 2006. KoH was from October or November (just checked, November 14, 2006. First 50 gigger was Invincible, Dec 19th. Smooth Groove OWNED).

It's on amazon for 24 bucks. Blu Ray MSRPs being a ripoff isn't the fault of KoH. 40 bucks has ALWAYS been the MSRP for BDs, regardless of size.

And if any recent movie is ACTUALLY WORTH full BD price, it's KoH.

I barely have it out of the box. However the audio quality is amazing. Even with the standard headphones.

I'll have a review up tomorrow.
