Title: I nearly got Manilowned!

lol

i was due to go to Manila to visit my staff/go out for lunches/talk about the coming years work/etc...

i should have been there this week.

So , this week has been :

1) fire in one of the buildings, which had to be evacuated.
2) Typhoon
3) 6.0M earthquake
4) The hotel i'd have been in has been taken over by rebels and is about to get stormed by the army.

.... i miss ALL the fun. :(

I thought this thread was going to be about Barry Manilo, too bad you missed all the fun. you could have written a short story which would be turned into the sequel of Hotel Rwanda.

shit, Im so glad I dont have to deal with Manilans on a daily basis anymore. My day to day job for a long time was helping them manifest shipping documents regarding cargo leaving NZ. I mean they werent bad people, I guess there was just too much rigidity in terms of how much initiative they were allowed to take (i.e none). I guess I can blame my company for that. At least im in Imports now

damn that would've sucked.  manila is a shithole, i've been to the countryside, and it's a LOT better.
