We are gathered here today to mourn the loss of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Nintendo Gamecube, we hardly knew ye.Not only do you have to buy a console to play it, but you have to play it with a wiimote which is not how it was originally designed.
Joystiq has confirmed with numerous Gamestop and EB Games retailers that the Gamecube version of the newest Zelda offering has been removed from their computer system. Their websites have also been updated to reflect the change. We have yet to receive any official word from Nintendo, but all signs point to this as a done deal.
Get out the pine box and some nails, prepare to bury your Gamecube. It's over. The Gamecube is dead, long live the Wii.
Unless -- Nintendo announces they'll offer Zelda:TP from their online outlet like they will in Japan.

Joystiq is wrong. The reason stores took the game down is because they have to put up the final box art. Located here:

Also, it's obvious joystiq is a bunch of Wiitard fuck wits who are just starting propaganda.
Shut the fuck up. I refuse to believe! >:(
This proves they're making HUGE profit on every Wii system sold.
I know they are, but how does this proove it?Zelda sales are being sacriced on GC for Wii.
Wait, regardless arent you able to play with the gamecube controller hooked to your wii>

I never had a Nintendo jacket in the first place.

My take.Yeah, because having a large marketshare, selling a lot of consoles and therefore a lot of software, isn't very profitable.
These closet sized stores like GS and EB do not want to still be housing Gamecube games when fall hits. Shelf space is at a premium. So, out with the old, in with the new.
I bet you will still be able to buy GC Zelda online or in most BIG stores. Nintendo will not ignore 25 million existing users.
Nintendo cares about profit, not about marketshare.
Whatever. If GC version is cancelled then I'm buying a Wii on mother fucking launch. You're proof of why this move makes at least *some* sense for Nintendo.
