You haven't seen Deliverance?  At your age?

Also, Primer is pretty cool but I wouldn't recommend watching it under the influence of alcohol.  So I guess I can't recommend it at all ;)

I've seen Deliverance before, but not in a long time.  My HD madness got me to buy it today, though.  I also almost bought Boorman's Excalibur, too!

Cera's character is better than Jonah's - overuse of profanity is a big turn-off

Did an HD version of Primer come out or something?  What's ignited your interest in it?

Primer deals with the intricacies of time travel in such a minute, detailed way that it's easy to miss what's going on (particularly if intoxicated).  I've watched it sober and drunk any number of times, and I still doubt I could really explain the whole thing.  So maybe it really doesn't much matter what state you watch it in....you'll probably need to consult an FAQ either way.  But then again you watch plot details better than I do, so perhaps you will fare better.  At the moment, I'd say it's somewhat like Donnie Darko, only in that important aspects of the plot are simply not communicated to the viewer, no matter how astute that viewer might be.

Primer is "boring" by the standards of anyone that enjoys Michael Bay movies.  By your standards, I dunno.  It ranks alongside Deadwood in my "Don't watch if you've been drinking" league of entertainment.....which is to say it's fairly difficult to follow if you don't pay close attention to everything.

I didn't really like Primer, but I think that's mostly cause it did a poor job of explaining its time travel paradoxia. It reminds me of the short story The Very Slow Time Machine, another time travel narrative big on theme and lumbering doom and not so good on all the pieces fitting together.

He is basically Michael Cera in Juno as well. I wonder how long till his act gets boring. He in another Apatow produced flick in '09 I believe.
