Title: Would you pay $30 for a downloadable indie game...?

...even one that looks this amazing?

I'm torn, I mean if this were released in a box at a store, I would probably buy it. If it were $10 and downloadable on Steam, XBLA, Wiiware, whatever, I would buy it. And I want to support indie developers, but...$30? Ouch. I mean, this guy probably poured his soul into this game, but still $30? I dunno, man. I'm going to need to wait for some reviews, and they're going to need to be some pretty freaking awesome reviews, and the game better be more than 2-3 hours long. This game is competing with stuff like Kyntt Stories which is free. What does EvilBore think?

$30 is always too much for an indie game

indie prices are in XBLA range

also depends if said indie game is good, of course

I'll buy it when it hits steam regardless of price, this looks awesome.

Remind me why being an indie game factors in to this equation?  I mean whats the difference, especially if it turns out good.

$30 is a lot, but there'll be a demo, so make up your own mind!

No, I wouldn't even play low budget games for free.

I would dish out two grams of gold and ten grams of silver.

$30 for a game where a goth fishwoman finds a nice place to sit, then explores to find a nice place for a nap, then randomly battles a giant squid some time later?

No.

Well, that's the whole dilemma, isn't it? It shouldn't matter, but yet it still does.  :-\

A handheld port of a game on the level of Cave Story or La Mulana would be worth $30 to me.

I wouldn't pay 30 bucks for that but if the game is right I might.

I would pay $30 for a high res (but still retaining the small flea like perspective) of Knytt Stories on XBLA! Ok, maybe not but I would pay $10!
