Title: Do I need the top screen to play Rune Factory?

So those Hong Kong fucking assholes took 2 weeks to mail my replacement screen and I don't have it and I'm moving, so fuck them. But I do have a DS with a bottom screen, Etrian Odyssey (Unplayable with one screen) and Rune Factory. Advance Wars is playable on the bottom screen only, is Rune Factory? I'd hate to sink some time in only to get stymied by crop selection or some shit.

WHAT THE FUCK. This game has an FMV start like PoR, but it's also got a themesong. It's not in Japanese, but it's not English and it sounds like a bunch of distinguished mentally-challenged fellows with lisps running bad J-Pop karoke. Has anyone else heard this It's like they forgot the lyrics and just mumbled it.
