Here's the ones for me - actually these are practically the ONLY games I buy exclusively anymore:
- Super Mario Bros (the true platforming games, not all the sports and party and other shit)
- Legend of Zelda (I still need to play the 4 swords games and a couple of the handheld games)
- Super Smash Brothers (I can't wait for the next one)
- Grand Theft Auto (Haven't played the 'stories' versions, I can't wait for part 4 though, it will kick ass)
-
Too many to list
-
No matter what I tell myself I end up buying almost every Nippon Ichi game god damnit motherfuck I love em but I never finish them I just dump 50 hours in grinding characters then drop off.
-
One thing I will say is that at the rate we're going, FF will no longer be on my list
lol
-
FFXII isn't out yet is it? ???
-
I'm talking about FFXIII, FFvsXIII, FFVIIAC, FFVIIBoC, FFVIICC, andFFVIIDoC specifically.
-
Ever since OOT i've gotten the zelda games.
Ever since Splinter Cell came out i've gotten those games
dont think i really have kept up with any other game series i think.
-
I've got a REAL scary ps2 backlog ;)
-
weirdly enough, i don't think i have a series i religiously follow. hurr. maybe if company of heroes becomes a series -- and it will.
-
Fire Emblem/Advance Wars. Although I think I might be able to skip a new Advance Wars game after the DS version.
-
TOO MANY TO LIST.
-
Sonic Adventure series
Zelda
that be about it.
-
Mario
Advance Wars
3D Zeldas
Soul Calibur
Sim City
2D Castlevania
2D Metroid
-
Viz: yeah but you dont count, because he said BUY lol
-
Zelda
Metal Gear
Final Fantasy
Are the heavy-hitter, must-have titles for me--where I do things like get the soundtrack or import the incomprehensible Japanese version, or buy foot-tall action figures because they have a freakin crocodile hat omg!!
2d Metriod and Castlevania are close. 3d Metroid is ok, but just hasn't clicked in a way that makes me feverishly-anticipate the next one. Too bad they never did a 3d Castlevania, I imagine it would be something like God of War.
Then there are series that are similar but either haven't built-up a legacy in my mind--like Half-Life--or have been dropping off--like Soul Calibur or Prince of Persia. Or beloved series that are either dead or had the life drained out of them--like Thief or Street Fighter--and series I really enjoyed but got my fill of, like Katamari.

huh.....
well... come to think of it.... none.
wow, every single series I've been interested in.. I haven't actually gone out to make sure I get all of those in the series.
I'd say warcraft, but I never cared to get warcraft 1....
I'd say Final Fantasy.. but once 10 was released... I never cared to buy it or anything after that..
I'd say Zelda... but I never cared to actually buy windwaker.. or ANY of the gameboy ones...
I'd say metroid, but besides the NES one, and the second (which i didnt actually buy, i just had cousins bring it over on the gameboy and i beat it during a christmas), and then super metroid, and metroid prime 1.. (didnt buy #2, rented it to beat it)..... I guess but even then I didn't search for any of the hand held ones.
Fuck I have no specific series! ;(

Mario
Zelda
Waverace
Burnout
SSX
Love them all.
-
Metal Gear
Silent Hill
Resident Evil
Doukyusei/Kakyusei
-
Final Fantasy
Zelda
Resident Evil
Metal Gear Solid
Silent Hill
-
Pretty much Final Fantasy and that's it. Now that they're expanding the Halo franchise, I'll probably buy everything that MS decides to crap out. But usually I just wait to see impressions on the game and decide if I want to get it or not.
-
well just about anything but a few of the lesser know ones:
Way of the Samurai
Gundam Battle Assault
.hack RPGs
GunGrave
edit:
I also seem to always buy the Tony Hawk games when I haven't really enjoyed one since the THPS3.
-
FF
Zelda
Sonic
DDS
-
Only Metal Gear.
-
Capcom 2D fighters
I'm really bad, especially for Street Fighter. I not only always get the new release of the same game, but I buy it for every console too.
-
Phantasy Star (minus that gay card game version of PSO)
Warcraft
Shining Force
Mario (no mario party games though)
hmm I can't think of any others I consistently buy or follow.
-
Nothing. Plenty I would stay away from because of their series.
