My wife and I were downtown earlier today and noticed that the Croc was all dark on the inside, and the planned events for the day were canceled. Just went over to Seattle Weekly's website, and they've got the news up for all to see.
Really sad news, I've seen some great shows there over the years, it's always held a spot in the hearts of my wife and I. We saw The Wrens and Stars there early on in our relationship...

Whaaaat what's the story here? Of all the places to close, how could the Crocodile shut down? It's usually always filled up.

Their site is still up with events listed? DId something happen to make it shut down suddenly?

From the Seattle Weekly:
I'd love to be wrong about this, but a pretty reliable source has just told me the Crocodile is closed for good. More details will be posted as soon as we have confirmation.
UPDATE: SW calendar editor Aja Pecknold has confirmed that Croc booking agent Eli Anderson received a voicemail from owner Stephanie Dorgan saying the club no longer has the capital to continue. More to come...
From The Stranger:
A reliable source just informed me that she received a phone call from the Crocodile’s Eli Anderson this afternoon. Eli told her he had received a phone call from Crocodile owner Stephanie Dorgan earlier today to inform him that the Crocodile is closed for business.
Emails have been sent and phonecalls have been made to confirm. We’ll let you know as soon as we find out more, but I’m trusting this tip is true.
FUUUUUUCK.

Never saw any bands there but I know this place was around forever and had some good bands come through it. A sad day if true.
