Title: Postcard from the battle front : Sony intel for year end.

Executive summary of new Sony intel. to the foot soldiers.

1) PS fans can now finally admit that 2007 has been horrid, but only because 2008 is going to be amazing.
2) Killzone and LBP delayed Killzone 2 and LBP were never launching early 2008 and 2007, they were always late 2008
3) No one cares that GTA is going to X360
4) PS was doing that dragon ball thing in 2007 of not using their proper fighting style. In 2008, it goes supersaijin8 to disprove all the doubters. Sony deliberately held back devs to prove a point in 2008.
5) we have no solid dates for anything and we don't know what the back end of 2008 looks like , but if we'd have to guess, we'd say it's UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME!

5)

So I pretty much had the same opinions of the Wii and the PS3 at this time last year, with the PS3 having a slight edge.

It's amazing how a year later, the Wii finally got software that makes it worth it, while the PS3 still doesn't have jack shit (for a multi-console owner like me) available.  The best games on the system are multiplatform or downloadable "last-gen" titles.  Something's wrong here.

My Wii library has grown to 19 titles.  15 of those were purchased in 2007.  My PS3 library has SHRUNK down to like 5-6 games that just sit there.  The PS3 gets used for PS1/2 gaming, Tekken 5 DR, a little bit of Warhawk, and that's about it.  What a fucking disappointment.  I fully expected Sony to bounce back and be number one by the end of this console generation, but now that seems impossible.  They fucked up.

All the delays give people more time to post in the Uncharted thread over at GAF so they can talk about Drake's shirt and count the ammount of times they've seen a particular fern in the game.  It's amazingly dick hardening unreal.

Naughty Dog is wowsome.

Maybe Uncharted is awesome.  I thought the demo was just okay and I might buy it when the price drops (or it bombs here, as I suspect it will).  And Unreal Tournament III sounds awesome and I'm likely ordering it tomorrow.  But a couple of good games, released at the end of the year, is not enough.

So next year will be better, sure.  But a few good games is not enough.  One thing Sony could do is IMPROVE THEIR FUCKING ONLINE; the reason I keep getting 360 versions of PS3 versions is because of Xbox Live.

It's amazing how Sfags have completely united behind Uncharted.  There is almost no dissension among their ranks as to which game is the best looking/best playing on the PS3, which by their logic extends to being the best game on any system.  OTOH, Xbots have been arguing all year over whether Bioshock, Halo 3, COD4, Mass Effect, Orange Box is the GOTY on the 360.
