Alcohol agitates your stomach and it simulates hunger, and you are of course drunk so there's no common sense holding you back. There is a reason I kept little food on hand at the height of my boozing

i ate a lot of taco bell thanks to that tequila.  and it was NOT good

Yeah, I don't keep food in my house for such reasons, but there are four convenience stores within 5 mins walk from here  :-\

If you arent drinking beer, the main reason for weight gain from alcohol is the eating that comes with it. Most suggesting eating with booze to keep the rate of absorbtion under control, but eat a little BEFORE booze. Eating while boozing is a trainwreck. Not to mention what happens to a persons metabolism while drunk.

The higher the proof of alcohol the less of it actually gets turned into fat calories. Hard liquor at 80 proof for example doesn't really make a person fat, but beer on the other hand is low grade booze with loaf of bread attached.
