Who said Blade Runner was pedestrian?
I haven't seen 2001 yet, watched Blade Runner a few months ago.
BR had great atmosphere, setting, lighting and special effects but lacked in everything else.
Blade Runner really WASN'T all that good. Boring as hell. Looked awesome though!
I do concur that Blade Runner is overrated.

If you think those guys vindicate you, you should probably examine your company a little better.
Also, Unforgiven. NEVER FORGET.
Well, to be fair. Next to 2001 Blade Runner is probably the closest thing to a true cinema classic that the sci-fi general has. Stuff like Star Wars, Alien, Terminator 2...etc are just blockbusters. 2001 and Blade Runner alone stand above the genre as classic cinema.BR had great atmosphere, setting, lighting and special effects but lacked in everything else.Quote from: BrandnewBlade Runner really WASN'T all that good. pick fegs :punch
Solaris I admit I haven't seen. But planet of the apes? I LOVE planet of the apes but its very much a 60's studio blockbuster type of flick. I wouldn't put it alongside 2001. I could see why others would though, for 60's sci-fi it was damn philosophical.QuoteWell, to be fair. Solaris? Planet of the Apes?
