Title: RGB Full Range (HDMI) - PS3 display settings
Post by: MCD on December 19, 2007, 05:43:01 AM
I remember drohne(?) saying this is not good or accurate on some TV sets, but the "darker" contrast looks so good on my TV.

so what to do? i just wanna make sure it won't harm my TV in some way.

also, what about "Cross Color Reduction Filter" and " Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super-White (HDMI)"?

yeah, you really don't want it to look much darker -- you're just turning dark areas that should have detail into flat black, which would probably make some games unplayable.

Hmm...

guess i should turn this off then.

any idea about the other two settings btw? i didn't notice any difference with them on or off via my set.

super white lets the ps3 display 'whiter than white,' if your tv can handle it. probably best to just leave it off. cross color reduction only applies to low-quality video connections -- it's not relevant if you're using component or hdmi
