Its a new map and a new vehicle the dropship.....
Dropship supports a pilot, 6 passengers, and you can transport a jeep or a tank and drop it and the troops at the enemy base....the passengers have guns to shoot down warhawks with ;)
I only got to play a little - but this has great potential.

Looking good. If this is up on the Japan store, I'm definitely buying it.

Should be - I downloaded from within the game after I downloaded the new game update/patch.
I havent tried it with my DS3 yet to see if they got the rumble support in.
-
How much is it? I've yet to pick up Warhawk but I think I might download it over the weekend.
-
this expansion was $7.99
-
Yeah, I can do that. I gotta pick up a headset though. How's the one that comes bundled with the retail game? Decent? Is there a lot of people even using headsets? I've kind of grown used to hearing a lot of chatter and whenever I think of playing a game over PSN I just assume that's it's usually done in total silence.
-
I use the retail Warhawk pack-in headset as my PS3 headset....its a cheapo bluetooth headset for sure given the quality of the buttons and the volume buttons....but the audio quality is fine.
An interesting thing about games on the PSN - since the PS3 doesn't come with a headset kids actually have to go out and buy one.
The end result - people are silent unless they actually want to talk about the game you are playing....I never really get the obnoxious singers, screamers, rappers etc that I find on XBL.
Nobody is going to go buy a headset if its their intention just to voice spam/troll.
-
the DS3 rumble support they added to Warhawk feels a bit weak like in some of the other first party sony titles....3rd parties have done rumble best so far.
I want the regular assualt rifle to roar.....
-
I played more -
Riding in the drop-ship is very intense. gunning down enemy warhawks from the drop-ship is a blast.
The moonlighting on the level looks great.
The new stage has ALOT of great towers and complicated structures that are loaded with hiding spots and snipe points that are not easy to get to.
I have only played the CTF version of the map so far (1/3 of the total omega dawn area used in the CTF map). I need to try zone control where it uses a full 100% of the map in a 32 player game to get the full effect.

How come the actual game doesn't look like this? I've seen an ad in the Playstation mag where it showed hundreds of Warhawks fighting and they mentioned how it's only possible with the power of Cell. Then on the side, it says that 32 players can play against one another. :lol
-
high-five ;)
-
looking at that pic smoothe groove - id say the real game turned out to look better....
the 100's or warhawks in the sky would have been cool tho - I suspect all that jazz went away with the games single player game...
Online game is only 32 players....do we want 90 bots?
-
I was thinking about getting this at some point - is everyone still playing an expert, or are there still inexperienced players I can have fun with without worrying about headshot-headshot-headshot every time I spawn?
-
this game honestly has me tempted towards getting a PS3 (dedicated servers!). but how does it feel to fly the dropship? is it on purpose clumsy like the elephant in halo 3 or is it fairly maneuverable (able to dodge enemy warhawks?
-
Should I download the real game guys? Do you guys play a lot?

I havent flown the dropship - I have only manned guns on it ;)
Actually one time I spawned and this dood was shooting at me with a turret - I barely died before I made it into the dropship cockpit and tried to fly away - I didnt get the controls as I had never flown and they gunned me down but I took alot of hits and flew a long way with flames pouring out of the sides of it.

I personally am on and off with any game....but there are always alot of people playing warhawk.
-
2003 called, it wants its graphics back
-
Is it really that bad?
-
well, it's expected when you use a last-gen gpu, and a budget one at that
-
Maybe I will just rent it first.
-
Drinky is right - the GFX arent the best by far - I mean the game looks good and it is fun - but remember that its a PSN downloadable game only packaged at retail to sell a BT headset bundle.
This is a good game on PS3 - not PS3 demo material if you know what I mean.

Actually the game looks pretty damn nice when you're flying around. But who gives a shit, really. The visuals get the job done. The important part, the GAME PLAY, is good, but not great. Warhawk makes for a nice multiplayer online game, but you can definitely do better. I think more people would be singing its praises if it were cheaper-- $40 is a little too steep.
I do have to say that after the update and the new map pack, the game feels improved. And I found no shortages of games went I online a few minutes ago. Had to cut out though, 'cuz unlike Halo 3, you can only play 1P online per system, and my buddy is waiting to play some games too.
Same with UT3. :'(
-
yeah im not sure what all the update addressed - but i agree that overall the game feels different for the better...
-
I'm definitely picking it up today since I gotta go out and finish some last minute Christmas shopping anyway. I've read about "wowhawk" for freakin' months now so I suppose it's time for me to see it for myself.
-
Looks like I'm downloading the thing. I went out to 3 different places this morning (Circuit City, Costco, and Best Buy) and neither of them had the retail version of Warhawk. I did end up picking up a MadCats bluetooth wireless headset though. Usually I steer clear of any MadCats related products but Costco knows how to put on a sale. The same headset at Circuit City was going for 50 bucks while Costco had it for 13. Even if it ends up sucking balls it won't be that big of a deal since it was so cheap.
And you know, I gotta admit that I'm starting to actually worry about the PS3. There wasn't shit out there for the system and all three places basically stuck the PS3 section way the hell out of sight. You really had to go out and actually look for it. All the software was still flush in their racks. Hadn't looked like it'd been touched in weeks. No UT3 in the stores either. I know it's just anecdotal evidence but something seriously seemed rotten in Denmark today and it's just days away from Christmas.
