Apparently the RIAA distro'ed this to major news shows for them to air as a real news report. Hilariously, two of the things you should look out for: "Low prices"/You get what you pay for and compilations full of songs you might want to listen to. So, this year, if you buy a CD that seems affordable and has songs you like on it, chances are it's fake. Make sure to pay too much and only listen to half.

The RIAA can suck my nuts man. >:(
-
I hate that organization with every fiber of my being.
-
I will never buy a CD again.
Starting...3 years ago.
I wouldn't say it's because of the RIAA, but they're a good scapegoat when I want to point my finger at anything other than my own self-greed and cheapness. They certainly haven't done anything to convince me to buy.
i buy direct from artists on tour or direct from labels
i hate everyone's current download payment model and how it apes itunes
$10 for 192kbps or $12 shipped for a physical CD?
-
i'm certain that's a violation of the eula

Amazon is $9-10 for 256kbps, no DRM.

No problem. double albums/best of albums are an even better value. I got 38 tracks of Iggy Pop for $14. (!)
My biggest problem with "investing" in iTunes isn't the DRM--though that is an issue. It's the AAC. DRM-free MP3s, I'm positive I can still play 20 years from now. So, enjoy my money, Amazon!

for me it's the quality. i am buying a ton of small release albums and if i'm paying the same online or for a physical copy, why wouldn't i buy something that's better quality? I'm patient so i dont' mind waiting for it to ship, but blargh
