Title: A certain amount of shit just hit the fan in Pakistan
Post by: Mandark on December 27, 2007, 10:12:15 AM: Benazir Bhutto, the opposition leader and former PM who had returned to Pakistan and was going to compete in the elections, was killed by a suicide bombing along with 14 of her supporters. There are also reports that she had bullet wounds, but that could have been shrapnel from the bomb.

I have no idea what this means. She wasn't a shining beacon of principles and ethics, but it's probably bad that she got blown up.

What makes the whole situation kind of unpredictable now is the timing. The "elections" were scheduled for January 8 apparently, and a week doesn't really seem to be enough time to get things into a semblance of working order.

At best, I think we'll see another 'delay' of general elections by Musharraf. At worst, another Military power grab.

It's a bit morbid, but I'm going to go see how fox news is taking things. :lol
