Title: Collectively I have finished CastleVania games more than any other title
Post by: abrader on December 29, 2007, 08:24:04 PM
- NES CastleVania: At least 1,000+ playthru's between NES and GBA classic cart

- NES CastleVania II Simons Quest: At least 300 play-thru's

- SNES Super CastleVania IV: 500+ playthru's

- N64 CastleVania: 50+ playthru's

- N64 CastleVania Legacy of Darkness: 15+ playthru's

- PSOne CastleVania Symphony of the Night: 30+ playthru's

- PSOne CastleVania Chronicles: 10+ playthru's

- PS2 CastleVania Lament of Innocence: 100+ playthrus as Leon, Joachim and Pumpkin combined

- PS2 CastleVania Curse of Darkness: 10+ Playthru's as both characters each

- PSP CastleVania Chronicles X: 5+ playthru's

and not only do I finish CastleVania games multiple times over, I go on weird binges like all this week I started with a little CastleVania chronicles and ended up playing thru LoI again and now I want to replay SoTN and CoD as well...

I think I might as well just give in - CastleVania is my favorite style gaming franchise ever - the music, enemies and bosses are remarkable to me and keep me coming back over and over and over and over...

I have even finished CoTM, dissonence and aria of sorrow 1-2 times each. I never did finish either of the DS games. I cant get into Dracula NEXT 1999-2025+ era portrayed on the Nintendo handhelds as much as the classic dracula/belmondo saga.

Now if I got you in the mood head on over to castlevania dungeon for a good stroke session...

I think NES CastleVania takes 35 minutes per single life playthru.

CastleVania chronicles take on the simon belmont story takes a lot longer as does the Super CastleVania IV take on the Simon Belmont story.

I never finished any of the NES Castlevanis despite playing them millions of times.  I haven't played an NES Castlevania since I was 7 or 8 though.

The hardest part of NES castlevania is the Grim Reaper - make sure you have III power boomerang cross and do some vandamage before he even starts.

That's a crazy amount of playthroughs. I can't imagine playing any game, even a really short one more than 15-20 times, much less 100 or 1000(!). I think the game I've replayed the most is Starfox 64 with about 15+ times.

no castlevania bloodlines?

I only briefly had that for Genesiss and never finished it.

It was hard to get me off of my SCV4 addiction back then.

I got to the last boss in Curse of Darkness but didn't beat it because I felt the boss fight was way too cheap. I mean most CV's have cheap bosses but that was just ridiculous.

or something, it's been a while. And the only reason I got that far is because I'm a whore of the franchise.

I may give it another whirl because I'm a glutton for punishment. I mean I've been playing Rondo of Blood for the past 5 hours and get some kind of sick enjoyment out of seeing the game over screen over and over again, a Hobbit's Tale by Bilbo Baggins

Take a break with Capcom's Willow for NES.

damn I wish I had that right now.

I'm not sure how one goes about taking a break from being killed repeatedly in a CV game. Not even for Willow.

Ironically enough, the only Castlevania I've ever finished was the fauxvania, Simon's Quest.

I loved that one, I probably would have really enjoyed SoN but I never got around to playing it.  I've got a couple of GBA Castlevania's but portable gaming  :'(

Actually, I beat the first CV once with a game genie ultimate lives cheat and could beat Super Castlevania pretty easily.
