WTF, NATIONAL FILM REGISTRY?

Below is the list of this year's films added to the National Film Registry.  I'm also kind of surprised they haven't added certain flicks like Silence of the Lambs, but - hey! - who knows?  This year's additions:

"Back to the Future" (1985)
"Bullitt" (1968)
"Close Encounters of the Third Kind" (1977)
"Dance, Girl, Dance" (1940)
"Dances With Wolves" (1990)
"Days of Heaven" (1978)
"Glimpse of the Garden" (1957)
"Grand Hotel" (1932)
"The House I Live In" (1945)
"In a Lonely Place" (1950)
"The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" (1962)

Okay, people.  This elongating of silent vowels needs to stop.

Also, seconded on Oklahoma!  And I have no problem with old Hollywood musicals.

I love how the long forgotten Empire of the Sun has somehow resurfaced due to internet fans obsession with Christian Bale.  The movie really deserved to be rediscovered.

Well, I'm watching it right now. I've had that DVD sitting around for a few months.

You've never seen 12 Angry Men? They played that movie at our middle and high school English classes a lot, and we read the play in class.
