Very old-fashioned film, with some outstanding aerial battle cinematography, and the CGI work looks very natural. I didn't hate James Franco in it. Looks OMG2 on Blu Ray, especially this fuck awesome dogfight around a Zeppelin.

Wait a second, what?
-
like it's good for a tech demo, you mean?
-
James Franco is a fucking fantastic actor but this was meh all around including Franco's acting.
-
It's not meh, it's good. It's structured like a 1940s movie filmed with today's tech. James Franco plays the same smirky fuck in every movie, but it suited the character in this one. And yeah, it's a great tech demo - it was digitally shot, so the PQ is pristine.
It's an old-fashioned movie that isn't laced with hipster irony or borderline scumbags as protagonists, so I don't really expect anyone under thirty to like it. Nevermind.

well i like old movies (for fuck's sake i have an issue of Golden Age of Hollywood in my bag right now, which has a "kids get off my lawn" article about the 70s) but i had heard that this was just not a good film all around.
-
I wasn't expecting much either from what I had read, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'll give it a shot. WWI! Yay! And I see Jean Reno in the cast listing.
