The series is narrated by David Attenborough, so yeah, there's commentary on how awesome Earth is.  Are you a bad enough dude to watch planet Earth in HD?

It's a documentary with some truly amazing cinematography

the HD versions drop the hour-long "making of" feature that's on the DVD set, though  :(

I want to see how they filmed some of that stuff

I want to get it, but I'm a dirty poor.  I don't even really have a HDTV (I use the 360 hooked up to a CRT monitor for ghetto HD).  And if I ever get one, which format do I support?  These are the questions that plague mankind.

Yup, it's an HD documentary. It's a must-own if you have a Blu-ray or HD-DVD player.

HD in general has less special features, I just rip the special features off the DVD versions if I want them and burn them to a blank DVD

i will not be double-dipped in the HD generation

Anyone seen the feature-length version? It opens here in Japan in a couple of weeks. I've pretty much internalized the original series, having pirated it on DVD then bought it on HD-DVD, but I still plan on seeing it on the big BIG screen. Sho Nuff, are you in??
