Title: Whatru playing the first week/weekend of 2008?
Post by: abrader on January 02, 2008, 01:02:28 AM: So far I have finished Lament of Innocence again- I tried fighting the forgotten one once and failed...so I went on to the final battle....

Im just about to finish Curse of Darkness again....im near the final stretch - just about to resurrect dracula and then kill him ;)

I may start Silent hill PSP later.....

Pretty much gaming up 2008 with PS2 titles haha

I've always been kind of curious how improved it was over the 360 one so I decided to finally give it a go. Sure it's still the same broken ass game but at least now the textures in the distance don't look like they've been ported over from the N64. It actually does make a difference for me because anymore I don't play Oblivion for the game, I play it to walk around and look at the scenery. Man....I wish this game had a photo mode....

I got an offer I couldn't resist. However, as it turns out, the noise it makes totally freaks out one of my cats to the point where it cannot be in the adjancent room as the cat is.

The machine is pretty fun (though it feels like a walking advertisement machine when I do anything online with it), Mass Effect is very cool but I can't help but feel that a redo of the interface for the PC would elevate the game a notch.

I bought crackdown, kameo, and pgr3 used in a buy 2 get one free thing at the local ebpawnstop. Haven't played them yet tho-been playing company of heroes and puzzle quest when not playing mass effect, for the most part.

well, old models are indeed very noisy, not saying new ones ain't but they are much, much better IMO, Benq drives at least since that is what i have.

Crackdown should be a blast in coop from what i have heard, PGR3 is fun but it's outdated graphically (launch title, odd res like Halo 3) if i were you, I'd get PGR4, not a big difference in gameplay, but it look cleaner and better visually at least.

as for Kameo, i have that sitting on my desktop, i need to move my lazy ass and play it.

oh and check out 360 games/live arcade demos, don't forget about turning on background downloading!

I'm blazing through it as fast as I can because I have to give it to my friend who's borrowing it from another friend (lol) but it gets a lot better after that. just take your time. the story also gets much better. doing every side-mission could get a little repetitive but the assassinations get a lot better.

playing a bit of CoD4 online, doing the achivement whoring run on veteran (got an intel faq so Im picking those things up along the way), so should hopefullt have the full 1000 on this bad boy too

playing Eternal Sonata and fucking loving it, soooo cool

wading through several Kurt Russell DVDs I got for xmas, watched Tango and Cash and Executive Decision, awesome movies

probably going to play some more Etrian seeing Im working the next few days, Im gonna beat the postgame OMG

i.e. Producer - Answer 60 questions correct in one game without answering incorrectly, seeing as there is only 70 or so questions in one game that shit was hard

I likely could finish it now, but I feel compelled to let Dracula stew in his juices while I take out the two challenge towers and kill legion (the extra boss under the mountain temple)

To complete the towers I need a bird devil with lv 3 glide...takes time to evolve that baby up.

I saved the Dark Brotherhood questline until the end. I'm glad I did as it was the best questline. The final Thieves' guild quest was totally awesome, though.

Right now I'm playing Uncharted.

Is it a shit movie, though? Just from what I've gathered from Scene It! questions, it sounds pretty stupid. Plus it's directed by Ron Howard.

- my desire to get this one optional item that requires me to lvl up evolve a totally new ID before i finish the game

- Silent hill PSP

- my new Wii on which I have been playing Metroid Prime 3, Wii zapper games and VC games.

Earlier I played some mario party 8 with my girlfriend - WTF is with the 480I non widescreen PSOne look of that game? The game is fun really - the waggle bits dont feel as well produced as say wario ware but its good olde standard mario party. The game host is a bit of a spookie in this one.

I was at several arcades most of the day yesterday, playing Virtua Fighter 5 and Tekken 6. I really, really prefer VF5 to TK6 right now. Also played some KOF Maximum Impact Regulation A (there was actually a guy playing it at the arcade!! :o :o) and Halo 3.

I never thought holding down two buttons and moving the joystick could be so fun. I spent an hour jumping and climbing through the city, killing innocents just for kicks a la Patrick Bateman, grabbing flags whenever I saw them. The graphics, most notably the animation, are pretty damn impressive. What's the name of this engine again? Because it's fucking great. I know I'm late to the EB love-in, as games have about a one week hype lifespan here, and I also know the game does probably get a bit repetitive (my friend even told me this), but I think the setting will carry me through.

Post by: brawndolicious on January 07, 2008, 02:18:42 AM: yeah, don't bother with the flags too much, way too many to get an achievement. just keeping to the side-missions marked on your map and the main story, you're guaranteed to get around 810 achievement points. make sure you sit through all of the credits. I started and finished it last week, pretty easy game and not that long but the story and gameplay were both awesome.

Yup, that's the one! Son of a bitch... disk 1 was fantastic, honestly this game is leaps and bounds over its predecessor, only thing I liked better was the battle system in the first game was a bit more interesting. So far, the first part of disk 2 is annoying (too much back-and-forth to do) though :( I'd daresay this is the #2 best game on Cube.

Got my ass kicked up and down online, although I DID manage to get a perfect round against a much higher-ranked player, which caused me to laugh my ass off and lose the next round badly. :lol I beat another guy a couple of rounds just alternating between standing and ducking punches. These guys don't seem to expect or know how to deal with the simple stuff; it's weird. I got KOF Neowave for XBox today in the mail. No one is playing it online. :-\

I have that game and its hard to the core hard.....
