Title: guys - heartburn is serious shyt

yeah so more into my adventures of being 30+ and being surprised by things in my life changing....

I quit smoking cigarettes like 2 years ago. I had only started when I was 21 and smoked thru till 31.

During that time I developed chronic heartburn issues......I have had endoscopys etc - and while there is nothing serious, doctors can tell I have had some serious acid splashing by looking down my throat with a scope.

So I started taking aciphex and I quit smoking.....the heartburn stopped happening so slowly I stopped taking the aciphex....

occasionally Ill get heartburn at work of if eating spicy stuff late at night....but nothing like before on the cigarettes....

so for a week now I have had this sharp pain in my throat....it feels liek a strep throat or some such but i have had no cold symptoms....

I go to the doctor today to learn that I must be late night 'silent refluxin' and didnt even know it because iv cooked up my throat so bad it hurts to talk. Yes my own stomache acid is trying to melt off my own head by burning the throat inside out!!!!

Anyway - dont take heartburn lightly if you got it....

im back on the aciphex now - and im told the pain should go away in a week as my throat heals....

people prone to cancer can get cancer from it etc...

DONT FUKK AROUND!

I've had acid reflux since I was a teenager. It really sucks. In the past year I've also developed a Hiatal Hernia which is sort of related to heart burn and it's basically where a part of my stomach bulges out and jabs me in the esophagus and it feels like a heart attack. That kinda sucks as well.
