Hotel Dusk = Nada Puzzles, Too Much Text
Professor Layton = Puzzles Aplenty, Less Obtrusive Story
what the fuck is corny TALKING about? This thread has nothing to do with Nintendo hate. GOD
it's like having the back of a box of sugary cereal on your nintendo ds! only $29.99! yes, it's all the puzzles you remember from 'fun' moments of elementary school, only they've been dumbed down a little, because school was a gradually unfolding revelation of your mental inferiority, and nintendo ds is about feeling GOOD. it comes with j-gaf's highest recommendations -- and hey, if you'll play phoenix wright, your dumb ass will probably play anything!
actually corny, that's more of an anti you statement than an anti nintendo statement. 'you' plural, indicating ds fans generally, lest you take this as an invitation au e-beouf. ok, that was kind of an anti 'you' singular statement
The last game I bought on GAF's recommendation was Hotel Dusk.
yeah, someone at EGM gave it a TEN
out of TEN
Isn't your avatar from Hotel Dusk?well the art is good

People keep telling me to play these adventure games on the DS but I can't get into them.
Phoenix Wright - boring
Hotel Dusk - Boring
Professor Layton (had the chance to play the Japanese version with someone translating) - BORING (pick right hate? WTF.)
I mean, if I was 29 and still living with my mother, I might find this kind of fiction interesting - but I don't live with my mother (go jobs) and this fiction seems to be aimed at a 10-12 yr old.
Give me something with a strong sense of humor (and I know some might argue with me that PW does have that... but it doesn't) or something that actually tries to appeal to someone in their late teens - at the least.
Fuck, just give Full Throttle on the DS. Is that so much to ask?

i couldnt' find a single game worth keeping in a year and half of DS ownership
none of the games really appeal to me.

it asked me to cut a tarte in 8 pieces with 3 slices. I guess that's localization.
"Oh hey, its you Layton, I gots a puzzle for ya."Its a DS game that I'm not embarrassed to play in public, which along with Contra 4, brings my shame-free DS catalog up to an astounding two titles. I like it a lot, but most of you people aren't me. I recommend it only to people who figured out that riddle in Labyrinth way before Jennifer Conally did.
