Yeah, I need some help, it's a hard decision. I have seen Pan's, but not Eastern Promises.

i like pan's a lot, but cronenberg trumps practically everything. i'm jealous of hd-dvd owners right now. i've got to watch eastern promises in hideous sd :'(

Eastern Promises is a fine movie, but Pan's Labyrinth is a towering classic, and a visual/auditory feast to boot. EP is fine on DVD, i thought. I haven't seen it on HD-DVD yet but it's very far from a showpiece surely.
BTW, Pan's Labyrinth is also on HD-DVD, although the 2 versions sound identical.

There are HD-DVD rips available online. You can watch it in HD if you wanted to.

Didn't we just decide what movie for you to watch? and now you need our help again?
I think you need to be more decisive.

For a showpiece HD movie, you can't go wrong with Pan's Labyrinth. The PQ is jaw-dropping, and I am not usually prone to hyperbole about this kind of stuff.
I haven't even taken the wrapper off Eastern Promises yet. Thinking about selling it on ebay or wal-marting it, and just renting it. I only really bought it because of the 4-for-1 trade-in deal. From all the various trade-ins and BOGO sales, I have about 35 HD movies sitting on the shelf still wrapped.
