Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss broke the all-time single-season receiving touchdowns record of Jerry Rice on Saturday, and after the game, Moss told reporters this:
"I don't think me breaking Jerry Rice's record is special," Moss said. "I think shutting you guys up is what made it special, all the negativity, all my critics."
Rice knows a thing or two about breaking records, and when he broke the records of the great receivers who came before him, he always showed respect for those receivers. So how did Rice feel about Moss saying breaking his record wasn't special? On a radio interview Wednesday, Rice said, "I's almost like a little slap in the face, but that's typical of Randy Moss."
Ouch. As great a player as Moss is, he's always lacked Rice's work ethic, both on the field and during the off-season, and he's always lacked Rice's classy, dignified approach to the game. Rice is right to say what he said about Moss.
just like barry sanders is the best running back hands down, there's just nothing else to be said.
And Rice did bitch when he was younger, at least for big contracts. He was a hard worker though and perfected release off the line and route running.
Stop bashing Vince Carter people. :'( I still have a soft spot in my heart for that soft vagine.
Moss will likely break Rice's career TD record but will not touch his yardage record. Rice was still getting 1000+ yards at the age of forty. I don't see Moss playing at that age let alone excelling. However, with the exception of last season, he has been an outstanding receiver since his rookie season. He really hasn't been all that inconsistent etiolate.

Well....Favre is incredible, but he's also one of the worst passers in terms of interceptions. Double edged sword for passing so fucking much. But yeah, I'd agree he's pretty fuckin' incredible.

To me:
Montana
Favre
Marino
Elwayspoiler (click to show/hide)Roethlisberger[close]
something ain't right.....
Rice has a radio show on NFL Radio and he invited Moss to call in so Rice could congratulate him and Moss didn't call in. Rice then says that's typical Randy Moss.
???
Quarterbacks haven't changed so much as football has changed. Rule changes made it more difficult for defenses to slow the progress of receivers; there have been many rules created to protect the QB; and offensive lines were constructed with the passing game in mind instead of the running game.
QB's have definitely evolved since the 70's, and if you pay attention they are evolving even now. Never have completion percentages been higher for the greats with the same record yardage and TDs, while throwing much less INTs. Favre, to his credit, did evolve this year and protected the ball better.

people shouldnt ignore the fact that even though moss is a piece of shit, he's still a fucking incredible player when he wants to be
Eh, it's tough. I think I'd put Elway in before Marino.
Though, if Mr. Davis wasn't in Denver, they'd still be without a Super Bowl win.
