a southern man's most valued possession is his pickup truck
the threat of damage to his F350 is the only threat that carries any real weight

Well in the south, it does a lot more damage as a man's vehicle is also his home, and is usually where he stores all his beer.

Why are you listening to these songs?  You live in the Pacific northwest.  There's no excuse.

Didn't you stop being a teen three years ago?  Or is moving out of ones mom's basement a requirement to entering ones 20's?

Garth Brooks - Friends In Low Places :bow :bow :bow

Blame it all on my roots
I showed up in boots
And ruined your black tie affair
The last one to know
The last one to show
I was the last one
You thought you'd see there
And I saw the surprise
And the fear in his eyes
When I took his glass of champagne
And I toasted you
Said, honey, we may be through
But you'll never hear me complain

'Cause I've got friends in low places

Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I'll be okay
I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I've got friends in low places

Well, I guess I was wrong
I just don't belong
But then, I've been there before
Everything's all right
I'll just say goodnight
And I'll show myself to the door
Hey, I didn't mean
To cause a big scene
Just give me an hour and then
Well, I'll be as high
As that ivory tower
That you're livin' in

'Cause I've got friends in low places

Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I'll be okay
I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I've got friends in low places

i love how it's supposed to be an empowering songs for girls.  it's so petty.  If a girl trashed my car, I'd sue her for damages.

"Friends in Low Places" is definitely a guilty pleasure. :)

The only song I know of where a chick trashes her cheating ex's car is "Before He Cheats". I don't doubt that there are more, but that's the only one that I know of.

Of course, you also have Martina McBride's "Independence Day" when she kills her husband. :)

I like really old country music from the 30s - 50s, Western Swing, and some Johnny Cash.  I don't really care for much of anything recorded after 1970, with the exception of Willie Nelson.  I hated all of it for the longest time, but once I got over being a music dickhead and started really listening I began to appreciate the artistry involved.

When I was young, I had to learn the chorus to "friends in low places" in order to be fed. This daycare my parents sent me to to required children to sing it, as a grace.
