they have a free month or anything like that?
-
You will need the following:
1) No social life
2) A Computer
3) Credit Card or access to a retail outlet that sells time cards
-
4)The game itself
-
I tried to download the demo and long time ago and it wouldn't work. Next time they renew the demo offer I'll try again
-
4)The game itself
DO YOU NOW

EB/GS sells the dvd installer and a 14day trial for $1.99
Don't do it....

don't do it!

WoW is a noob's MMORPG.
Seriously. It's so popular because it's so easy. Final Fantasy XI is much, much better, deeper, and involving.
-
If I ever touch an MMORPG, please kill me
-
WoW has the most active subscribers, and thus is more successful. You can convince yourself a shitty low performing MMORPG is good all you want, but you cant fight the onslaught of near 7 million strong.
-
FFXI is unadulterated crap for lovelorn virgins -- seriously, the game is embarassing animu tripe for pimplezoids what wanna be Squall.
WoW is 4 2K00L D00DZ with places to go. :hyper

FFXI is low-performing because it's complicated. What do people want in life? Something easy? Or something hard?
Put 2 and 2 together, jackass, and you have your answer to why WoW has a larger userbase.

You probably didn't make it past the dunes :lol.
-
I imagine you would find FFXI complicated. I mean you aren't really that bright. I mean if you wanted to honestly convince us you were intelligent I would suggest stop banking on artifical standardized test scores and maybe, just maybe, act like you are over the age of 15.

Oh, such tender toes.
Tell me three end-game areas of Final Fantasy XI if you're so clever, noob.

What's the max level in FFXI?
Denise was like level 37 after 3-4 weeks... so I guess it's much tougher to level in FFXI than in WoW. Is it just more time consuming and more of a grind?
I remember she said she was learning japanese because nobody was her level that could speak English.
I'm assuming the game is just more slow and tedious, and not necessarily "hard."
She said the hardest thing was finding a group... and after that it was just grinding.

tell me what the last boss of bulletproof is then, virgin

Um, everyone in the game speaks English. Did she play during the 360 beta or something? What you're saying sounds ridiculous.

Hahahaha, I'm not a virgin, fatty.
-
you're a total fuckin' virgin -- i've seen your picture and read your posts. you are fundamentally unappealing to women on a profound level. this isn't just speculation; it's physical law. you and sex are mutually exclusive, unless there's a necrophiliac tendency among chicks I didn't previously know about.
besides, you write like a virgin. you have all the insecurity and shame of the virgin-for-life. don't hide who you are, dode!

She played on the PC when it first came out, and she got high enough to the point where there were no american players at her level. She had to group with japanese players.. lol
like.. 4 years ago?

FFXI is one of the worst games I've ever played. I'd honestly rather play EQ.
-
I played EQ :(

WoW has the most active subscribers
Poor quality but populist titles constantly push out higher-quality productions, in every form of media. I'm not saying that is the case here, but I wouldn't use the number of active subscribers to defend the quality of this game.
-
I would, its awesome.
-
I would, its awesome.
'Click' grossed more than most movies this year - it must be awesome too!
-
Kate Beckinsale hmmmmm
-
Here's where that line of logic fails, Melissa.
World of Warcraft is a Massively-Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. So shouldn't the user base of a particular game be used as a selling point in a genre that by its very definition prizes sheer quantity of players above all else?
-

You know, I can't really get into all that because Prost will blow a gasket. So I'll just say, "okay" since I don't play these things anyway.
-
Even with ACTIVE subscriptions WoW trumps all. If you wanna argue that certain low population MMORPGs are BETTER, well thats just in a the realm of icky subjective.
-
I'm not a MMORPG fan myself, but there is a charm to World of Warcraft that the other genre offerings don't have. Call it good art direction or polished gameplay, but it is fun in small doses.
-
Aren't the number of people on servers limited or are there like twice as many people running around then last year?
-
I would, its awesome.

Oh i get it...it's sarcasm.
-
Wait, you liked Click? For Kate Beckinsale right?

Yeah, well, there are over 3000 people on my server right now now. Most of which speak English. Yeah, there are a lot of Japanese people, but there are more than enough people around.
That early in the game, I don't blame her for being the only English-speaking person that high... but now there are Europeans in endgame, and they got the last release.
Highest level is 75. I have four level 75 jobs, and had to start over again at one point.

Haven't ragged on you once since you came to the forum, even after that last little attack on me when you made your "I'm leaving OA" post. Please drop it? I don't want to have anything to do with you.

I'm not saything anything, Prost. I was just pointing out that if I start talking about MMORPG players, you and I will undoubtedly get into it again - so I opted not to.
-
Melissa, do you look down upon me because I play WoW casually :(

How about me? I'm pretty hardcore.

Screw you, you whore.

That was before I got my Optical Hat. I quit for a while, and all my data got erased (four 75 characters, argh). But I love this game so much, I started over as a different race and job just a few weeks ago.

What's up with the copyright at the bottom of every screenshot? Does the game automatically slap that on there?
-
If I had to pay for a game, I would want to play it as much as possible in order to justify the fee. With an addicting game like WoW I don't think that's a great idea. I've avoided the game like the clap, mainly because I KNOW I'd go crazy over it.
-
Yeah, automatic stamp.
PC users can use this program called Windower to make the game not full-screen (it doesn't by default for some reason...). They can use the print screen key to make pictures without it. On PC, you can take pictures of your inventory and whatnot, but you have to make the HUD disappear to take snapshots on the PS2 version. It's stupid.

How much tier 2 do you have? My priest has 5/8, but my guild hasn't really been going to BWL anymore, we just do Naxx now.

redWOOD... ANSWER ME

I had 4/8. We weren't getting warlock drops in BWL at all for the longest time. While I was there the boots and gloves never dropped, the robe dropped once, the shoulders and belt dropped twice, and the bracers 3 times. I wore 3/8 nemesis for the +23 dmg/healing and everything else was off-set BWL/AQ40 except for my felheart boots.
I'll dig up my CT profile if you want to look at my gear. I'd only change out the boots for nemesis. http://ctprofiles.net/235263

raidfags
casualz n carebearz 4 life
-
Yeah. Although I found raiding a lot of fun and enjoyed researching and leading I would have been a lot happier during that time period if I hadn't started.
-
What's the big Warlock Build these Days? I used this one in PvP and fucking DOMINATED even against raid gear Alliance with me wearing mostly blues and high high level greens. Going to do it again with my Alliance Lock
(http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/1104/wow1hs7.jpg)(http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/1058/wow2qi3.jpg)
Just so you know the reason I put points into curse of Exhaustion cause I played a lot of Warsong Gulch and it is INVALUABLE there. I put points into Fel Intellect so I could leach away with Dark Pact and not worry about my pets mana.
-
There wasn't really a big warlock build because each tree was viable for PVP.
Soul Link was popular for 1 on 1 encounters, survivability, and an absurd advantage against caster classes with the felhunter.
Destruction was popular because of bane, ruin, shadowburn, and conflag. It was the way to do damage quick as a lock.
Affliction was great against unorganized teams. Just run around and cast curse of agony, corruption, and sometimes siphon life on everything.
When I PVP'd I mostly played AV and my favorite build in there was 9/21/21. I'd demo sac a VW so I could lifetap constantly and recover from encounters quickly, have instant cast corruption, improved lifetap for more mana returns, and be able to stop and hit quick and hard with bane, ruin, and shadowburn.
-
I dunno, I fought many a warlock, and demon shit and destructo couldnt ever hold out.
However SHADOW PRIESTS. There was this one called MiniPope, he was my NEMESIS. A dwarf shadow priest with a voodoo mask :(
-
Was that his mask? - http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=19886
Shadow Priests were tough kills if they knew what they were doing. As an affliction lock you didn't have the ability to do that much burst damage whereas a destruction lock would and could probably win that fight much easier.
I have no idea why the soul link locks you were fighting couldn't beat you. When I was 9/31/11 (I needed MD for BWL and didn't like MD/Ruin) I was pretty much a god against most casters. 6700 hp with 120 SR and 80 FR and my felhunter (with over 300 resistance to all schools) taking 30% of my damage while spell locking and devouring magic. And with +550 dmg I could dish it out.
-
Welll to be fair dude, I was fighting ALLIANCE locks.
-
FFXI is great; one time when I was LFG for seven hours, I crafted something that lost me money.

I quit in early August and don't remember that being in the game so it must have been fairly recent.
