Bought it for $3.

oh HELL YA!
It sincerely rocks. Larry Fishburne was great in it.
-
wait - is that Lawrence Fishburn I see?!?!?!?
-
Yeah!
And dude, the screenplay was written by Frank Darabont and Wes Craven!
-
You *do* know that Johnny Depp is in the first one, right PD?
-
WHAT!
-
You GOTTA be fuckin kidding me, PD.
I am pretty sure it's his first role ever. How can you not have seen Nightmare on Elm Street? It is legitimately good!

it was and craven's daughter choose him because he was so cute.
according to the documentary on the series.
-
Is that documentary in the big box set? I got that set last year, cheap, and I have to be honest and say that after watching the progressively terrible sequels, I wasn't so keen on diving into the extras.
As a kid, despite knowing that the sequels were inferior, I kinda gave them all a "watchable" pass in my head, but today, anything after 3 is dire. Not counting New Nightmare.
-
i think so? i don't remember. i had to sell the box set a long time ago to make rent so i can't tell you.
-
That one isnt bad.
I wish they quit making them at pt 3.
-
new nightmare is pretty good though

Yeah, nice little precursor to Scream. I would like to put together a progression of the metahorror movies. I think it starts in the 60s, with Roman Polanski's The Fearless Vampire Killers, but I bet there are at least a few arguable earlier points.

Remember, Pee Dee is HOMESCHOOLED. I'm sure he wasn't allowed to watch such satanic stuff growing up.

I've never seen the first one, but I've seen "The Dream Child" one. I think it was the first time I saw a sex scene in a movie :o
-
So you saw arguably the worst installment in the series? Awesome.
-
wait... is that patricia arquette? :o
-
So you saw arguably the worst installment in the series? Awesome.
I think Freddy's Dead is probably the worst, although the camp value is high with that one. And also of course Freddy's Revenge, the gayest installment of the series.

Yes!
And John Saxson reprises his awesome role as Nancy's deadbeat sheriff father!

I think you are right. The camp value is ONLY HIGH if you are a fan of the series, though. if you saw that one first, and figured that was representative of the series, you'd think the fans were distinguished mentally-challenged.

You are correct, sir.
Isn't there a tie in to the third one as the opening of the fourth? Like one of the characters from Dream Warriors getting Freddy'd in a junk yard?
-
hahaha johnny depp is stupid. that idiot fell asleep and his room was nothing but blood!
one of the highlights of my childhood, that movie
tvc: that, and the part where that guy in prison gets offed are fucking classic moments. God, that movie was so amazing.
